reynardfox -> killer profiles (5/7/2010 12:11:23 AM)

At work years ago, when looking through job applications I was trained to spend most of my time looking at the "reason for leaving" box on the form, which, if it contained a rant about the last employer, got the applicant binned.
Right or wrong, it gave the impression that you might be hiring someone who was prone to go to war at the drop of a hat, and who wants to work with someone with issues from the start?
There's the background to this. Here's the bit that concerns today.
As a Dom couple, we get lots of enquiries, and are invited to look at lots of profiles.
A lot of these profiles are rants about time wasters/liars/fakes/players/ or just men.
It's a real turn off. People do their profiles and rarely seem to read them themselves, some of them are like little fountains of rage. I'm not about to take time off work to meet someone, drive miles, lay on entertainment and set up an evening, to meet someone who seems so embittered.
Likewise you may have had a rotten time in your relationships, that's a shame, but son't expect anyone to want to share it. We are looking for new friends, not new ex's.
Time wasters? I see this from people I have not yet met and it red flags the whole thing. Time wasters are those people who come to look at something you are selling and have no money and no intention of buying anyway. Hello? We are looking for people to have sex with for God's sake!! I'm not about to bring someone around, into my home, and to savour thier bodies, talents, and personalities until I have a grasp of what the FUCK I am dealing with. So, damn straight I take my time.
If your profile reads like a declaration of war. If the journal is full of bile about prospective Doms who've let you down (and obviously some will) guess who's not going to be looking for that initial coffee?
I'm not entering into a dialogue, no one ever wins an arguement.
Just asking people to look at their profiles.
It may explain a lot.
Pictures that look like killers don't help.
* tip - relax and smile, relax and smile, relax and smile.

Dunno greedy.  But I for one have far better things to do with my time than attempt to make some sort of online connection.  Not my style

reynardfox, I know what you mean.  Sometimes when I'm looking at random profiles, all I get to see is nonstop ranting and raging...and many list usernames of "fakes."

One I saw recently, when I went to the home page and couldn't help seeing what was there, was someone who had used the largest type print size possible, and the word F*CK leaped up at me [:D]  like King Kong.

Message boards can get too serious for me this late at "night," maybe I should unwind by reading some profiles and pop some popcorn...ty for reminding me of the profiles.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: killer profiles (5/7/2010 2:18:20 AM)

I agree that over the top negativity in profiles is a huge turn off, but that's the beauty of it being an online forrum, I can choose not to read them:)

elleX -> RE: killer profiles (5/7/2010 3:58:11 AM)

I like to read profile , and yes you are right so many are full with rage , bitterness ,
i am not looking , but if i was  i would not be attracted by these profile
you are right ,
kidness  is welcome here ,,
and sometime we see also the same negative charges in the message board,
that also worries me

allthatjaz -> RE: killer profiles (5/7/2010 5:09:27 AM)

These profiles do us all a favor. I say, keep them coming because red flags are better now than later.

windchymes -> RE: killer profiles (5/7/2010 5:24:10 AM)

Just be glad they weeded themselves out for you, and didn't waste any of your time.

choccywoc -> RE: killer profiles (5/7/2010 6:27:20 AM)

Damn, i've got a great picture of myself and the guys getting ready for a range war, wearing mexican hats and armed to the teeth with guns, knives and dynamite, i thought it would make a real killer profile photograph.

thishereboi -> RE: killer profiles (5/7/2010 7:39:09 AM)

I agree that profile filled with rants are a big turnoff for me. But then again, so are forums posts that do nothing but bitch about other people. That said, was their a question behind this post or were you just trying to show us, that you can rant along with the best of them?

thatsub -> RE: killer profiles (5/7/2010 1:22:56 PM)

Rants belong on forums or your journal, not in your profile. Your profile should be about *you*, and unless you just consist of rants, they don't belong there.

I find it funny when I read such profiles, they don't realize that the only constant in those bad relationships was them. Ironic.
