We use Vitamin E oil on the horse when he's rubbed fur off against the boards or had a run in with another horse and winds up with bite marks sans hair. It does help it grow back in. For the daughter who has what she refers to as JewFro, we bought the top of the line straightening iron. Forget what model it is, but Consumer Reports ranked it tops.

Actually, as far as supplements go for hair, it's Biotin you want to take...it does wonders for your hair, skin and nails. I used it after a friend told me about it, and my nails started getting harder and less brittle. Another friend who had ridiculously curly hair swore by Ouidad...and her hair always looked gorgeous.
