Level -> Charles Manson's son (4/24/2010 5:24:11 PM)

I know this came out last November, but I just saw it a couple of days ago, and didn't find a thread on it already here.

Sometimes questions are best left unanswered, I guess.

I had somehow missed this, myself, Level. Thanks for sharing. That would be a bummer, indeed, to find out your father was so notorious and infamous. Manson has never been a "serial killer" as the article asserts but still he's no prize to have in your bloodline[:)]

That was intense. Poor guy, I feel sorry for him.

I wouldn't want the world to know...that is my take...

If it is true I feel bad for him...but still I would have kept it quiet if I could..

Jumpthough.

The core issue is not what will be the focus. What would it do to you if you found out your Father was Stalin or Ghandi ? To even express that you will carry his traits, in time will probably be considered a racist statement. This because it implies that blood makes for something more. And actually to contradict that means that it does not. So if any weight is given to this issue, it is in fact, bigotry. We can take this shit back to the Hatfields and the McCoys and even further. Feudalism is one thing, having a feud is another.

Now is the implication that this guy is going to be a mass murderer ? Charles Manson was in fact NOT a murderer. He was very intelligent and induced others to do it, and they convicted him on that, under conspiracy laws. These laws were refined later with the RICO act. Similarly, John Gotti may have never pulled the trigger.

Both were of high intelligence and induced others to do things, and that is why they are not at large now. The main problem is that they used their minds to do bad things. But if I told you to go jump off a bridge would you do it ? And if you argue that some people are stupid enough to do it then do you say that I can't tell anyone to go jump off a bridge ?

I am not efending these people, they were criminals, but their crimes were those of manipulation, and of thought and planning. Just what the gov does, but not sanctioned. But then others are blind to such things.

In fact if you see the class war for what it is, the gov sees certain people as a threat, mainly because they could start another heirarchy. This could become a problem, and simply allowing it's existence could hurt the status quo. If you don't unerstand the power game these things are like greek. The gov is not protecting us from Manson, they are protecting themselves. That doesn't mean I want his commune next door. In fact I don't want them nextdoor either. This is my turf.

Now if any part of intelligence or potential intelligence is hereditary, the kid might do quite well. I don't believe you can inherit a bad seed or good seed. It is possibly that some people's brains are geared a bit differently, and that possibly some are better at engineering and others are better at sales, like that. But it is what people actually do with the resources they have is what matters. If Manson was well adjusted and moral, he would probably make a great President, as might Hitler. But their personalities got in the way of their intellect, and quite probably their morals. I must say probably because I have no idea of their entire life experience. Being crazy after a lifelong presentment of crazy input does not necessarily indicate a disorder. No more than grieving a fallen loved one equates to clinical depression, in most cases hopefully.

And now that this information has been made public, will this kid be stigmatized ? And if so will that create another monster ? Time will tell.
