Just a quick and a very general reply....and with the disclaimer that I am a Catholic(a very very lapsed Catholic...but a Catholic all the same) Okay the whole "Jews killed Jesus" is really too silly to reply to.....but I have nothing better to do so what the f.... Jesus was crucified in fulfillment of the scriptures...it's way too late and it's been way too long a day for me to be citing scripture...but did not Jesus tell Pilate himself that he held no actual power....did not Jesus,in his moment of doubt and fear, ask his father while praying in the garden of Gethesemane to take this cup from his lips.Everyone had a role to play and if Christians believe their scriptures then know even Judas was nothing more than a tool in the master plan.....so no blame for the Jews,nor for the Romans The question of where are Christians in reply to these idiots from the Westboro Baptist Church...well the answer is right where theu are supposed to be....please show me one mainstream Catholic or Christian organization that stands next to these assholes. Don't blame Catholics nor Christians...we bear as much responsibilty for these idiots as Jews do for Jesus....or Islam does for 9/11 !!!!!!

FR Ok. Crazy idea here. These people live to piss people off. They live for the confrontation. Now the bike guys do fine and honorable work, but they don't seem to producing any change. If it is God's alleged hatred of homosexuality that drives their beliefs, how about giving the local Gay Pride outfit a permit for a charity kissing booth right next to their area? How well do they handle being provoked?

They always send him and his church a nice thank you card afterwards. [:)]

While that sounds all peechy keen and all(no pun intended...lol)...not sure that solves the problem of these guys disrupting military burials....a gay kissing booth might be just as off-putting to the families of the fallen heroes as the presence of the assholes doing "god's work".[8\|]

I think their funding is drying up a bit. When our local high school was puting on a play about Mathew Sheppard, they informed the media they were attending the opening night to protest. It was all over the news for a week leading up to it. All over local radio stations. Law enforcement set up barricades, and had deputies standing by. When I dropped off my daughter at school that morning, it was a scary situation. It turned out that there were about 6 of them, and for once, the media did not show them or their signs on tv. I do know that a lot of the hs kids chose to wear rainbow clothes to school that day... just to confuse them..lol. a lot fuss about nothing.. cause they were basically no shows that day.

I've thought about attacking the sources of their funding. More research is needed. But riddle me this: how does one start an IRS investigation? WBC is a tax-exempt church (503-c, I think). I've always assumed the definition the Feds use to determine such status was fairly narrow. Maybe not. Despite the WBC being very "lawyered-up", an IRS Tax Fraud case could keep them grounded for a while. Just sayin'... ~Dave
