I misread that as Daniel Pinkwater, and got *really excited* for a little minute-my biggest brother gave me an anthology of 5 of his books when I was pretty small, and I totally fell in love with the man.

Then I remembered that they were children's books, and that there was the 'water' bit at the end of his name. I feel kinda sad now.

You know, I'm doing a bunch of research for a school paper, and almost everything I'm finding is in an e-book. *sigh* ... I miss turning the pages and lying in bed with that good book.

Best,
sunshine

Terry Pratchett and some Neil Gaimon. And a huge Michael Chabon fan, but not the early stuff. Gentlemen of the Road and the Yiddish Policemen's Union. Both extraordinary books and entirely different from each other in style and tone.

I purchased four books for six bucks. :D
DIY Plumbing, Carpentry & Building Construction, The Sailors Weather Guide, and Basic Coastal Navigation.

I currently have those plus:
*Sex, Ecology, Spirituality by Ken Wilber. Lots of good references.
*Anthropology College Textbook (most likely outdated in some areas)
*Reason and Existenz by Karl Jasper
*The Nature of Physical Reality
*Grimms Fairy Tales (the signatures are still GOOD, the binding is bad and I have to replace it.)
*The Holy Bible.
*Tao Te Ching
*First Aid & CPR Training books.

o_o;

Countless piles of data in my computer, Wiki this Wiki that.

*Sex, Ecology, Spirituality by Ken Wilber. Lots of good references.  Excellent book...I enjoy reading Ken Wilber when I have the time to focus.

*Grimms Fairy Tales (the signatures are still GOOD, the binding is bad and I have to replace it.)   You can NEVER go wrong with a good copy of this.  I love to read about the meaning behind various fairy tales/world myths

pyro,

When I first read the title of this thread I thought you were asking people to actually lend you books.  I already had a box packed up before I realized my mistake!

I'm reading "Siesta Lane" by Amy Minato for the second time.  It's a peaceful book...reminds me it's ok to stop and watch the ants marching and the ever-changing clouds in the sky.  I have more favorites in my book list then I could ever name.

I will never own a kindle or rely on e-books....this much I know to be true.

I just finished one I'd highly recomend, " The Art of Racing in the Rain", especially if you're a dog lover, gearhead, or if cancer has touched your life. I'm a big tough guy and it had me crying like a baby at the end. And the ending could be construed as happy.

Currently reading "The Zookeepers Wife", true story of a couple who ran the Warsaw Zoo during the Second World War.
