Seems like an oxymoron.

Same thing happened in the '80's when 'hippies' became stock brokers. All that peace love and community when to pot (and coke too) when they stopped living in their parent's basement and became tax payers.

It should be no surprise that this communal gathering of people eschewing money for the barter system has gone down the same path. I don't think the air conditioned travel trailers and gas powered generators that have been in attendance for the past few years were what the originators had in mind. However, now that there's a 'franchise' name - their philosophy has 'evolved'.

There are many ex-liberals who became conservative when their entitlement fulcrum causes them to be on the wrong side of benefiting them personally.

Yes, reality has a way of adjusting "ideals."

Lol, when they say, "it's not about the money", it's about the money!

So- I doubt I would want to go to this - now that it has changed.

On the other hand there ought to be some expectation of privacy. So if I was there would I really want strangers taking pictures of me and posting them everywhere? Hell no, that's why dungeons prohibit cameras and cell phones in playing areas, to protect people's privacy.

I remember when it was held at Baker Beach in San Francisco... it's sad to see something so wonderful become organized, commercialized and bastardized... [:(]

Oh come on Google earth and street can see you now from your window.

You know..

It's hard to get a good picture of a burning man, those flames are too bright for the daytime exposure settings and him flapping his arms about really fucks up the auto focus.
