Saying that it costs $3 is disingenuous.  That's only the cost for the equipment - labor and G&A overhead will up it to $12 - $30, and I don't know how much more FDA compliance will add.

That said, this is a wonderful breakthrough and I hope it lives up to its promise.

And if Danielle is a submissive, I sure as hell hope she posts here...

I remember learning about this in Med school, the theory behind suction therapy, it's the same principal behind maggot therapy but artificially induced, talk about thinking outside the box.

If this is marketed, it could really save a huge amount of cost, time, and infection related injuries due to self maltreatment of wounds. :D Great post....God I feel like such a nerd right now lol.

I don't know about anyone else, but in all my born days when cut or bleeding for whatever reason I always let it bleed, in fact MADE it bleed. This sounds quite similar.

The theory behind my method is quite simple, make it bleed until it stops. That's when the coagulents in the blood start working. As the blood comes out, other things are not getting in. Once it seals itself nothing else is getting in. I have been cut very severely and have never ever picked up an infection from it. And I avoid the use of bandages if at all possible. When younger I healed at an amazing rate, people couldn't believe it.

Though my health is not what it once was I believe that I was endowed with a truly effective immune system also, and it has been tampered with very little. There have been three times in my life I've ever taken antibiotics and that was for ear infections, and I didn't want to be deaf. Spent too much damn money on speakers actually.

Good post, next time someone stabs me or something I'll rig something up and try this suction therapy. It really doesn't sound so much different than what I've done anyway, just an enhancement.

Yes indeedy. We NEED people who actually know things to counter the know-nothings with the IQs of root vegetables.

"self-maltreatment of wounds" is a great phrase, and something I am guilty of. Just spent 3 days in the hospital being treated for MRSA and Proteus in a heel ulcer 3.0cm x 2.3cm x 2.0cm deep. Quite painful.
