Actually the boat was a lot like living in the woods - there are a few people in every marina it seems that are live aboards. I'd do it again if I could. The only down side was I didn't have the boat's heater system set up, so it got too cold for me. It's like a tiny floating apartment. If you can live off a microwave, fresh fruits and veggies and very little refrigerated stuff, the foods not an issue. If you can live on very little electricity, that's easy enough. And if you don't mind having few possessions, you'll be fine. It was a fairly ascetic existence. But the marina's have bathrooms and showers, often they have a t.v. room or at least nearby restaurants. It's a pretty cool way to live - and pretty inexpensive. There are communities of people who do it. If you google "live aboard" you'll find a bunch of info. Mine was a 33 foot sailboat. Small, but doable. One caveat... if you're claustrophobic, it's probably not a good idea. Best, sunshine *wee typo
