Donovan McNabb was traded tonight...and in a shocking development to the rival Redskins......Jason Cambell is finished in Washington...and the Michael Vick era starts in Philly !

p.s. I couldn't find the NFL brag or sob thread so....

Well, that was somewhat expected, at least by me.  But I wasn't thinking to the Redskins.  I was figuring possibly to the 49ers, or MAYBE to Detroit.

I guess we'll get to see Vick develop finally.  He's got a lot of potential.  More than McNabb.  I never understood the flap over McNabb honestly. He's not that great of a QB, never was.  I mean, yeah, he's better than me, that's for damn sure, but, to listen to many people, you'd think he was the second coming of Bart Starr.

Speculation had him going to the /Raiders.  They still have a huge QB issue there.

I don't know, Jamarcus Russell's stomach is pretty huge.

Kevin Kolb will start in Philly, either from the get go, or after a couple of weeks, when Vick falls on his face.

This leaves the Giants as Dallas' only competiton in the East.

Brilliant move by the Redskins, and its a dumb move by PHI to trade him to an NFC East rival. Can't believe more teams weren't interested in acquiring a HOFer with plenty of gas left in the tank. This pretty much guarantees that WAS selects an OT with its first round pick, and I would not be surprised if they trade down to acquire more picks.

McNabb will do more for the Redskins than Cutler did for CHI.

The better question is actually what did the Bears do for Jay fucking Cutler?

Nothing at all.

I do not wish to speak of the Bears.

Or Julius Peppers.

I will get back to you at the end of October

Wasn't meant as an insult(though I must admit to having a sneaky suspicion it might be taken as one)jusy an innocent observation, that's all

Cutler got into a snit at the Broncos and knew what he was getting into with the Bears.  The Bears were in an awful situation before he came there, and it was awful afterward.

I saw Cutler pretty much quit playing during the Ravens game. I think there's a little bit of Jeff George in him. He's got tools and talent, but I'm not so sure about his head and heart.

The NFC East with WAS, NY, DAL, and PHI is going to be a huge slug-fest now. WAS now has competent leadership at the helm.

Yeah good old Washington.  A trio of 30 year old running backs, a terrible offensive line, and a new defensive scheme for which half the unit is probably not suited for.  Since Shanahan's offense has always made use of timing and accuracy the thing to do was add a quarterback know for having trouble with both.

Just out of curiosity why do you expect Vick to fall on his face? He was doing pretty well in Atlanta until all of the dog fighting hoopla started.

I disagree; he certainly had flashes of talent, but was just as often mediocre. Now, the one thing in his favor, he has a better team around him now, and if he has matured some, maybe he'll realize some of his potential.

Personally, I feel bad for McNabb; he went without much in the way of weapons while in Philly for most of his time there, and now that they've finally got some serious skill players, they ship him off to Washington.

Help explain please.  They are already talking about extending McNabb.  He had one year left on his contract when he was traded,  Does this one year follow him with his new team and then he is free?  Is that why the rush to extend him immediately?  Or is it a good faith effort thing?
