Lately I've been missing the old me, so I've been digging through my old books and records.  Which bands and albums most remind you of your own lost youth?  For me it's

Roxy Music
The Smiths
Pulp
The Dead Kennedys
Fugazi
The Fall

Added note:  I grew up a lacrosse playing American suburbanite in the mid 90s, not an eyeliner wearing faux-poet in Manchester in the 80s, contrary to what my musical predilections might imply.  I didn't even go through my goth phase until first semester of freshman year at university.

I always loved The Jesus and Mary Chain.  Don't think I can even legitimately count them as part of any archaeological dig into my musical taste since Kill Surf City and My Little Underground are still on my iPod shuffle.

Oh well based on that criteria,

The Smiths
Pulp
Sonic Youth
The Pixies
The Jesus & Mary Chain
Siouxsie and the Banshees

are still on playlists that I listen to regularly. I have a few boxes of vinyl that I want to tackle soon. That will be some fun laughs. I peeked in the box and found that infamous Sigue Sigue Sputnik album Flaunt It circa 1986.

Cheap Trick
Elton John
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Robin Trower

Yeah, I'm an old fart.
