The problem with you not getting a vaccine is minor. The problem with many people not getting vaccines is major. When the majority of people are vaccinated against polio for example, then the few non vaccinated are not at risk because the herd does not carry the illness. When the number of vaccinated goes down, that's when epidemics hit.
In addition, if you aren't vaccinated or don't vaccinate your children, then you must tell all others who you come into contact with this. Otherwise when you do get whooping cough, and that's likely, you will visit an elderly relative during the period prior to symptoms when you are most infectious, and they will die from it. As will anyone who is on chemo or immune system depressants such as transplants or those suffering from auto immune disorders.
You want to kill yourself or wind up in an iron lung, go for it. But killing others because you can't be bothered to warn them is inexcusable. Of course, since pa doesn't believe in vaccinations, he won't mind when his grandmother is exposed, contracts it and dies. Or will he?
