Sorry if this is against the rules. I can't seem to find a FAQ or guidelines about what to post and such. I've been going through some of the profiles of people here and while many seem to be genuine, I can't help but wonder about some of them. Call me suspicious but I wonder what the ratio of genuine to scam/spam profiles there are here. I'm not naming names nor am I expecting anyone else to but have we encountered fake ones before here?

It's not against the rules it's just been done to death. The ratio is 1 to ?, nobody knows because: 1) You can be suspicious but you can never know for sure. 2) Not many that count such things know what number comes after five.

If you use the Search function, you'll find billions of threads about this. Yes, there are plenty of fake profiles here.

Just like in real life there are time wasters and con artists. Generally, don't answer people from other countries especially third world. Don't agree to send people money. Don't agree to be naked in an unlocked hotel room for someone you've never met.
