If the Devil Had A Wife is the name of a book that has just came out, and is causing a hell of a stir, here in my little corner of the world. It's the story of the Stark family, folks that basically helped this county grow, and amassed a massive fortune (estimated at between half a billion dollars, and one billion dollars), but it is also the tale of the dirty, dirty secrets of the Starks. Drugs, lesbianism, buying the police force, and possibly murder of the family patriarch.

Just thought I'd give a heads-up, for those that like these kind of books.

I had no idea that anyone questioned whether the devil had a wife or not. I was always told that when it rains and the sun is shining, that means the devil is spanking his wife.

As for lesbianism, IMO, that really shouldn't be considered a dirty little secret anymore. Regardless, sounds like an interesting book and one I would love to sink my teeth into!

If it can't act, maybe.

Tim, as evil as those two are, the Starks may have them beat. One of the stories has Nelda Stark (the wife) allowing a child to die outside their hospital, due to lack of funds/insurance.

I went and bought a copy of the book today at lunch, we'll see what sort of evil is inside.

In the true sense of the word 'grow' I really doubt it. Very much.

Meaning?

When I said grow, I meant by pumping money into the community. They may have been horrible trolls, but the family, and foundation, have put millions back into the area.

It isn't New York, or Paris, but for the size of our county, these are superb institutions. Even if they were paid for on the backs of others.

Wrong is wrong. I dont know about these people and I am not interested to go research it but the thing is oft times these scags who manipulate, expoit and basically mess over others do these sorts of good deeds to throw off the scent. I dont care.

I dont see it as giving back, I see it as more manipulation. I would rather they go to another planet and stay there, let the regular folks build museums and the like on a foundation not on the back of anyone. I am not fooled by this sort of bs.

Well, I tend to think most wealth was ill-gotten, somewhere down the line; it's a fucked up world we live in.

I whole-heartedly agree and have faith things will turn around and be set right.

My friend, I wish I felt the same way. Instead, I am rapidly, and perhaps irreversibly, heading down the opposite path.

Yeah, I had to get out the Google

Tim, it does indeed sound like that; I hope the book sheds some light on whether Nelda Stark saw it that way!
