Its a new speech, with new bogus numbers. Fresh presidential spin (lies) with fresh urgency, Ronald.

Tom,

what has changed in the bogus numbers between late february and early march or which new neocon has he called a lying cocksucker in the last month?

why didnt they report those differences in facts between the two speeches on fox entertainment? dont the neocons care anymore? or are they afraid they themselves will be caught in lies again? ain't seemed to bother them to be caught in vapid lies to date.

Ron

Just remember everyone - Own hard assets like gold, silver, and real estate! Taxes will go up but the major plan to pay for all of this spending and deficit is to create inflation at a rate of at least 5% for 5 years as soon as the economy stabilizes. That means your money will be worth about 28% less but hard assets should increase in value. (I'm sure Obama will spin that into "A New Housing Boom!" rather than "Many more Americans can't afford to feed their families and pay rent.")

FR

I don't give a freebie for a President misspeaking. Being a figurehead is all about communication.

What if he types as well as he speaks ? I have interpolated not and now, which is an unusual typo indeed but it can happen. So communicating to Russia it may come out "We are now going to bomb you" rather than "We are not going to bomb you". Unlikely, but only possible because of carelessness at the very least. If the reason relates to his intelligence level, we could be in alot of trouble. Suffice it to say that I wouldn't have made such an error at about ten years old. If I did it as an adult, my math teacher(s) would be rolling over in their grave(s).

yeah, I dont think it will get more action than Reagan saying we are going to bomb russia now.

take the meds.

This is the kind of stupidity that surrounds this issue:

"One last point: Alexander said “taxes” would also cause premium costs to go up – but that’s not really the case, according to CBO. Paradoxically, CBO predicts that the Senate bill’s excise tax on high-cost health plans would actually bring premium costs down. That’s because the tax would induce employers and employees to choose lower-cost plans with less coverage, to avoid being hit by the tax. CBO said the average premium for those affected by the tax would be 9 percent to 12 percent lower. The bill also includes some taxes on medical device manufacturers and drug importers; CBO found those taxes would have a less than 1 percent effect on premium costs."

When you buy a car without as many options, the cost goes down. Big fucking deal. The base cost of the "car" still goes up under Blowbama care and there isnt anyway around that other than to fudge numbers, like using 10 years of revenue and 6 years of cost.

If Obama is saying that the American People desperately need healthcare reform why does it not take effect until 2014?

My first guess is that they figure more of us will be dead. But that's just me.

Because the Republicans are blocking him at every turn and he's still trying to be bipartisan. The Republicans aren't interested in our well being. They're only interested in getting the White House back.

If Obama had his way, we'd have it in place already.

The repubs don't have a majority. Now I realize it's more fun to blame the other guy, but in this case you need to look more to the left. You know the guys who had a majority, but couldn't get their act together to vote on anything, because they were too busy pointing fingers at the right and worrying about losing the next election.

Jesus, Sanity.  I'd even give Bush a break on an error like that.

There is a name for what he is doing... it is called "grasping at straws"... and "having a double standard"

I am not a fan of Obama or this health care reform package because it doesn't do enough, but I have to say I will take one little mispeak over the torrent of stupidity that came out of that chimp's face every moment of everyday

Sanity -> RE: Obama says 3,000% lower insurance payments are possible (3/18/2010 6:44:08 AM)

Even if Obama "misspoke" and meant three thousand dollars that was still a lie. So he misspoke, and he lied at the same time. And he's supposed to be the second coming of Ghandi, JFK, MLK, Jesus Christ and Malcolm X all rolled into one?

In reality he's just your typical lowlife Chicago thug politician, isn't he. He tells his audiences whatever it is they want to hear, anything at all. Different audience, different script. Then he goes into the sleazy back rooms of Washington to make his scandalous secret deals that nobody wants any part of.

Well, it is interesting you should see it that way, so by no leap of logic, you should agree that the right haven't done one goddamn thing at all in trying to reform healthcare for the good of this country, so they fiddle while rome burns, veritable partisan traitors.

This wasnt a lie... and i warned it would be happening

Workers' share of health care costs
spiked 70% in 10 years, study finds
Fast-rising premiums have forced companies to shift more costs to employees.

While Congress argues over how to extend health insurance to the growing number of people without it, most Maine businesses and workers struggle with a different problem: how to afford the insurance they have.

The average cost of health coverage through employers' plans in Maine grew nearly 70 percent from 1999 through 2008, according to a study released today by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Maine's median household income grew only 0.2 percent during the same period.

"It's been a nightmare," said Rick Snow, co-owner of Maine Indoor Karting in Scarborough.

The company's health insurance premiums have nearly doubled since 2003, he said, even though it dropped prescription drug coverage and increased the amounts that employees pay through co-pays and deductibles.

Family coverage, for example, has increased from $471 a month in 2003 to $809 a month now, and the cost shows no sign of slowing down. "We had a 30 percent increase in July," Snow said.

The foundation's report is adjusted for inflation, which means it shows how much faster insurance premiums have risen than other expenses.
.........

Maine workers have clearly taken on a larger share, according to the foundation's report. The portion of the premium paid by employees for single coverage more than doubled from 2000 through 2008, even adjusted for inflation, the report said.

Maine employers and their workers have been hit harder than most by the premium increases, the report shows. The average increase nationally was 43 percent to 56 percent depending on type of coverage, compared with 66 percent to 70 percent in Maine, the report shows.

..........

Jason Allen, a Portland-based independent insurance consultant, said medical costs that rise about 14 percent year after year are the primary driver of the rate hikes. Allen and others also pointed to Maine rules that don't exist in other states, such as one that forbids insurance companies from dropping sick people and a long list of medical procedures that insurers must pay for.

"If you look at the number of mandates (added in Maine) within the last four years, it's much higher than the national rate," Allen said, and each mandate adds an incremental cost.

The premiums charged to employers and workers also reflect a share of the growing cost of care for those without insurance, many of whom are treated in emergency rooms. It is one reason that reform advocates say the nation must address the uninsured problem before it can solve the affordability problem.

Joseph Ditre, executive director of Consumers for Affordable Health Care in Augusta, said in a written statement Tuesday that the number of uninsured people and the costs paid by those with insurance will continue to rise without congressional action.

"Now more than ever, we must make significant changes to our health care system to decrease costs and ensure that all Americans have quality, affordable care," he said.
