Lockit -> CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 1:53:48 PM)

I really didn't think I would have reason to create a whiny thread post, but wtf? I don't need or want to share with my household, the sound effects of killer dominant's! I listen to music... go to sites where I need the sound on and then come across in my multitasking... an advertisment with sound. It was bad enough when someone's video would play whether you wanted it too or not, but advertisments you don't click on blasting through my room isn't something I am prepared to deal with.

Maybe I am cranky being sick... but does this bother anyone else?

Wow, yeah- I really don't want to hear a bunch of actresses sounding out what some website producer thinks all those do-me subs want to hear. Its bad enough when people think dommes should fit the porno stereotype. I don't want to hear it piped into my home without my consent.

(for the rest of my rant, go to futuresocks' "4u" thread)

DomImus -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 2:57:50 PM)

Oh, hell yes! I hate websites with sound. Always have. I avoid MySpace like the plague. I keep my sound system (I have my pc sound routed to a mixer running into powered monitors) shut off most of the time unless I am using it. I didn't realize they were doing it here.

lizi -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 3:07:00 PM)

These new ads with sound are bugging the heck out of me. I don't like being intruded on...you can kind of ignore the visual ads. Plus if I'm on the CM site I already have to be careful if there are other innocent family members around, now I have to worry about the sound ads that they might hear as well. It's really irritating.

ourmsbetty -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 3:12:37 PM)

Thank you, Lockit!

I was just about to post a thread like this.

I agree, they are intrusive and disruptive. I actually wrote the support folks to complain.

Now if the video/sound didn't start until you hit a play button or something that would be one thing, but to be assaulted by the noise at random times is a little much.

Meliai -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 3:13:33 PM)

Not whiny at all. I was just coming to post something similar.

To the powers that be - please make them go away or at the very least mute them. It's obnoxious to log in and hear grunts and groans. [:'(]

TG the kids aren't home yet, the volume was up all the way.

ourmsbetty -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 3:54:09 PM)

Hm...

Support's not being very supportive.

This pissed me off COMPLETELY. I had to turn the sound off. Its a holiday. Im home with my kid!!!! The advertisement was someone with a strap on saying, " grunt grunt grunt, you want it?" Like I need that???

sblady -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 4:13:40 PM)

Thank you for starting this thread!! I thought I had inadvertently clicked a button and kept trying to find the button to turn it off. Not only did it startle me, it was blasting as I keep my speakers up pretty high so I can hear when Sir decides to buzz me....which he did while I was typing this response. [:D]

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 4:15:02 PM)

If you use Firefox, you can just download AdBlock (which is freeware) and set it so you never see or hear another ad on Collarme again. Pages load a lot faster, too.

LadyAngelika -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 4:24:07 PM)

I really dislike them.

I guess Collarme has to get funding because it's a free site. They may want to know how many users like or dislike the ad to see if it's a good advertizing move for their client.

VideoAdminAlpha -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 4:27:01 PM)

The sound has been removed. I apologize for any inconvenience to our members.

Edited to add: The site was taken by suprise also. Thanks to those that wrote support and let us know.

Thank you!

Yay to VAA! So where's your new avatar already? Geez RS is slow

Lockit -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 4:55:48 PM)

I'm all for funding the site and would even donate to keep it going. I'd rather go that route than to hear that! lol

Thank You CM!

CM rocks! I turned my laptop on today and was like wth? I thought it was a wounded animal video popping up somewhere. I am tres glad it is gone.

Thank you.

Not seen it on CM, but I absolutely hate it on other sites, especially when browsing at work. I don't need the boss to know I'm not working.

Arpig -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/15/2010 8:31:40 PM)

Thanks to CM for acting so quickly....I do love this site[:)]

Rule -> RE: CM avertisments with sound? (2/16/2010 4:47:37 AM)

My speakers are nearly never on.

But indeed: I do not want unwanted sounds. I get plenty of unwanted sounds from my extremely noisy, music [:'(] loving neighbors already.
