I was at the surplus store today.  I got what seems like $300 worth of stuff for $42.   Then some rebates came back- (60 day wait) which paid my phone bill for 2 months.

So what is going on in your house?

About the same thing as the last time we had this discussion.

Same job, same income, same ever increasing bills.

as always...keep working on getting rid of my overspend I accumulated in the last two years

I recently texted to my ex something like "yeah fine, I start to watch my penny now again"...where he replied "you never stopped needing to watch the pennies!!!"

However, I do know that about 80% of my bills simply goes into my accomodation and regular bills such as electricity, gas, water etc...and with travelling abroad at times it was easy to build them up....but on the other hand I also know that I get easily out of them again when I want to and will be out of it at some point during autumn...my student installments reduced it significantly already this year and I am looking forward to the next one in april...and apart from that I simply wait until I have my degree and then at last I earn double to what I earn now with doing 1/3 of the work I am doing now...and then finally life can start at last (and at least my job is in huge demand here and not affected by the recession).

Things are starting to look up for me. I'm slowly beginning to make money as a photographer in an area of photography that I never even thought of.
Budget is still incredibly tight. People tell me it's good for the soul.

I was wondering if anyone else has Anthem-Blue Cross and received a letter asking them if they wanted to pay some exorbitant rate starting March 1, 2010 or not so much but have a much higher deductible? but I am not sure who this affects (or is it effects; I always forget that one) in this realm....I should add this is a PPO plan only.

Same old shit. Just living off my dividends, and investing my paychecks as usual.

Boring, I know.

I don't usually keep a budget, I am careful with my spending.  I am still working 2 jobs, and feel like I am only home on the weekend.  But life is good, I have not yet forgotten how to flirt.

Livin' like a fuckin' king to be honest with you.....and gorging on the fat of the land. Money grows on trees in the right profession. Problem is.......I'm finding I can't stand shopping........most of it is useless shit that I really don't need in my life.....well apart from books. So....loaded but just piling up while I read books like a hermit. Mind you I'm a big fan of food so it comes in handy for that.......oh and time abroad.....I'm off to Israel in November for a couple of weeks so comes in handy for that.

My budget is great... However, because so many in My extended family are struggling I have become an ATM machine... That being said, I do believe that I am blessed to live VERY comfortably, so I share it with My friends and family.

I should have mentioned the surplus store is a grocery store.    I tend to eat- and when ya run a household one has to have supplies- like OTC stuff, paper products-    in general - I avoid shopping.  :-0

I make close to normal middle class wages at a part time job.

I have $44 in my pocket. I can't even imagine what some people must do to make ends meet.

Yup, no house or car payment, off easy on everything and working for that forty four bucks. And if you want to know why I don't work full time, I'll have to send you a video of me at work. I am 49 and bend in ways the 20 year old kid can't. It is starting to get to me. That's why I don't make about a hundred grand a year. Thing is though, if I did I wouldn't live much differently.
