This is one of my very favorite shows. The Cornelia Marie crew is one of my two favorites. Those who watch it will remember Capt Phil had a blood clot in his lung a year or so back, but pulled thru for another season <s>. It doesn't sound good, from this report, so I will wish him peace however that may come.

I love that show, and I love Captain Phil. I hope he makes a recovery. Sounds like a bad stroke though.

How could this happen? He was the poster child for good health.

I dig the show and I wish Phil nothing but the best.

MBMBN, yeah, that's a great show! I hope Capt. Phil pulls through.

Not unexpected but sad. I will miss him on Deadliest Catch and After the Catch. he always had great stories and a great philosophy on life and family. RIP Capt. Phil.

He passed today...Someone that young, I know, I didnt used to think of 50's as young, and a Bering sea fisherman you would think the sea got him.

It's a contributor, I'd think.  The long hours sitting, not enough sleep, bad nutrition, cigarettes and caffeine... all would take a toll on the health.  Take a look at him from season 1 or 2, and the most recent one, he aged a lot.

I saw this in the paper this morning. I really had a lot of respect for Phil, and his deep family bonds.
