Oh yes I remember. [:)] I told family I was going to see a friend, I told friends I was going to see family.

He had a weeklong business meeting in Atlanta and asked me if I thought I was ready to meet him. Before this it had been chatting, phone calls and web (not naked) cam but no face to face. So I flew to Atlanta and took a shuttle to the hotel where a key was being held for me at the desk. I went up to the room and probably stood out there a good five minutes trying not to hyperventilate lol. Finally I let myself in, it was a nice room. Just an ordinary business travelers room with a large padded chair, desk w/chair, dresser and king sized bed.

I curled up in the big chair, tired from some stress I'd been trying to deal with plus the travel weariness I get. Worst though were all those thoughts of "omg what if he is a cereal killer and thinks i'm flakey?" "what if he thinks i look gross?" "what if he is gross??" You know, all those goofy last minute thoughts that can consume any brain.

Since I was tired it wasn't long before I fell asleep. So hard asleep I never heard him come in and set his stuff down or remove his jacket. When I did wake up he was just silently leaning against a wall. Watching me. With a smile.

Instantly all those doubts were erased, this really was the man with whom I'd been talking to many times a day for several months. Aside from him having to push my past my physical self insecurities in the 10 years we've been together it has been nothing but wonderful.

That is one of the reasons I love the chat/forum stuff, I get to know people before I see them and they get to know me before seeing me. I always feel much more myself with that approach.

Miyana, of course you can ask. :)   Truth be told i am a romantic thru and thru and love to hear stories about how people met and things like that. It warms my heart and at the same time, brings back wonderful memories for me. It's a win win situation.  i do hope that everyone who posted their experiences here had at least a little bit of enjoyment recalling them. i know i enjoyed reading them.

Is it for a survey?

The 2010 Census is coming out any day now...perhaps this is a new question they ask?

I was starting to wonder if  I was the only person getting the impression that some of these questions are either for a essay paper or book...

your partner? What was going on around you and how you felt the first time your eyes met?

Face to face?

We met at IHOP over eggs and toast... I had a hard time concentrating on my breakfast... actually he was waiting for me at the entrance and as soon as I looked into his eyes I was lost, like a mouse caught under the hypnotic stare of a snake

OsideGirl -> RE: Do you remember when you first met (2/1/2010 8:05:42 AM)

We were introduced by mutual friends at the Orange County social. We were then platonic friends for 3 years.

Haha, not all the details but the main ones.  I remember what I was wearing but not really what he was wearing.  Jeans, I think, but I don't remember the shirt.  And it was at a smoothie shop!  Yummy Tropical Smoothie Cafe!  :D

Aileen1968 -> RE: Do you remember when you first met (2/1/2010 10:47:53 PM)

I met him in a Lowes parking lot a few months after we began talking. I was waiting outside of the garden center when he pulled up. I looked in the car. He smiled and I got in. We sat in a parking spot for about a half an hour talking. I was completely hooked at that first smile.
I remember what he wore. I even knew what I wore since I took a picture of myself before I left to meet him.

NuevaVida -> RE: Do you remember when you first met (2/1/2010 11:00:26 PM)

We pulled up to the restaurant at the same time but parked a bit down the street from each other.  He smiled as he walked up to me, hugged me hello, and walked me to the restaurant entrance, holding my hand.  We had a nice dinner, fun conversation, and took a walk down the harbor, stopping to kiss as the sun went down.

I remember his smile, what he wore, how he looked, his scent, the things we talked and laughed about, and the way I felt when he kissed me.  I remember his goodnight kiss and feeling like this was going to be the beginning of something very cool.  Coming up on a year now, I was right. :)

That's it. You are officially stamped as the top CM poster who doesn't have pictures on her profile who should. Every image you end up switching into your avatar slot to or sharing in ways like this ends up being phenomenal.

The image above may as well slide right next to the dictionary definition under the term "beaming".

fondly, i do.
Orlando airport, December 2, 08.

He had told me he would meet me at the baggage claim area. almost running, i got there and i didn't see him. i stepped outside to have a smoke...mind spinning with thoughts of omg he changed his mind...thinking plan B. i turned around and saw him through the glass sitting at the baggage claim larger than life . my heart jumped, and i remember thinking... it's him... omg he is hotter in person!  i remember our eyes meeting. his eyes were so sparkly evil and approving. he pulled me to him by the back of my head and explored my lips...my mouth....with all my senses swirling and cunt throbbing...he lead me into his life.

I remeber comming in from work and he was there to fix the computor. He was a friend of my roommates and when he got in his bag for a tool he pulled out his flogger. I had never seen one like his before and I creamed right there. I didnt know it at the time but it was intro into this lifestyle. A week later we talked and decided to see what happend and a year later we are living together.

From last year's journal entry...

~ The Day We Met ~

Did we know it when we woke up that morning 183 miles apart? Absolutely not! Neither of us would even allow ourselves to believe it possible to feel what we were about to experience a few hours later that day.

We were two people, secure in who we were, confident in ourselves and where we fit into our neighborhood and the world in general. Trusting ourselves, wanting to be able to trust another, but facing a common past of committing to people unworthy of trust. We weren't looking for each other; we weren't looking for anything but a good time and someone to share it. Having in common a desire for a 'lifestyle' that one had experienced and the other fantasized. Having tried and failed, bruised literally and figuratively; wearing the scars of lost battles, but never unconditionally surrendering. Happy people, who enjoyed their own company.

One day you are laughing at anyone who is foolish enough to believe in; 'Love at first sight', 'the ONE', 'Soul Mate'. Then, after a glance into each others eyes and a simple hand-shake greeting, you're living it. We had no expectation; a cynical man meeting the optimistic woman just out to have a good time. Not realizing when they woke up that morning that by the time the sun went down that day neither would ever be alone again.

Here's to Pea Soup Anderson in Beullton; a hand shake, a 'jack & coke', a 'scotch on the rocks'. Our thanks to all the tourists there on that perfect March 1st day, who took up all the parking spaces so we couldn't stop. We're grateful for the 'lost' couple who came up the deserted road that "nobody comes up" (per beth) who made us look for a more private place to go. Our appreciation to the 'Kon-Tiki Inn' who had a room that faced the ocean, that we didn't see until the next morning. Thanks to 'McClintocks' who served a great 'Santa Maria' BBQ.

Of course I remember! It was just yesterday...

VirginPotty -> RE: Do you remember when you first met (2/2/2010 9:56:17 AM)

I remember it like it was yesterday. It's been almost 3 years since we "met".
Our 1st mtg. has been the most intense encounter I've ever had and I'll treasure it always.[;)]

Of course I do. It was one of the best days of my life.

I feel the same way. I love writing and chat before meeting someone - I like to do it for a good long time. It was months before Master and I met face to face. But when we did - he took me on the hood of the car within the first 5 minutes of meeting him. It was perfect. And this, by the way, was before we were any kind of D/s. This was just him and I, falling in love, and him doing as he wished with me and me loving it all.

Exactly. Took both of us by surprise that feeling this way about someone really did exist upon first meeting. It's still amazing to me how much I didn't know about how I could feel.

I am laughing at this one because I have been called that more times than I can remember. Yet they still love me!
