Your welcome.  Here's one database you could use to find a book/movie combo.
http://www.mcpl.lib.mo.us/readers/movies/movie.cfm

The quickest way, i'm thinking, would be to find a book you didn't enjoy reading much and see if the movie is any good.

Top five game-changers
Top five [insert genre here] (not thinking war movie, but thinking dogma95, arthouse, russ meyer, etc...)
Top five directors who never deliver but should (cough *M Night Shyamalan* cough)

My nomination for movies no man should watch: Antichrist.

My personal top picks

Top Teen Picks - Probably "The Breakfast Club", "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", "Fame" and "Grease"

Top movie exploring sex -- If you mean erotic movie - I think "The Story of O" is it for me (no surprise there, I'm sure), and "Wild Orchid" was pretty good, although Mickey Rourke is just so sleazey even when he was in his prime.  Oh, lets not forget "Secretary"

Top Soundtracks - "The Big Chill", "Forrest Gump"

Overrated Movie - Like I mentioned before "A Passage to India" (Best Picture, bar must've been set pretty low that year.  Add anything that has Tom Cruise in general (yes, including Top Gun"

Movie I'd like to rewrite the ending - "An Officer and a Gentleman"  You remember the ending when she's working in the factory and he walks in in full uniform (cue music "you lift me up where we belong....") sweeps her off her feet and carries her out....(like -gag me with a spoon).  He was an asshole to her throughout the movie, she should've shoved him into the steam compressor.

Good movie that's underrated - "The Mighty"  beautiful little story if you find the time - watch it.  I also really enjoyed a movie I only caught because it was on cable, called "Sliding Doors", I'd never heard of it before - about how a simple moment of chance (in this case she either catches the subway in one path, misses it in another) can change the entire course of your life.

A movie that was better than the book - Not many here, books are usually far better but I'd have to say "Jaws" - movie was better.

A movie that's better the second time you see it - for me these tend to be the classics - Casablanca, Gone with the Wind,  - but in addition to that are some classic funny movies "Young Frankenstein" and "Airplane!"

I've always suspected that you were attracted to women, so this clinches it - you're a lesbian.

Top 5 Movies where the bad guy(s) should have won.
Top 5 Movies where the lead actor/actress plays a character starkly different to his/her normal role-style.
Top 5 Movies with a cast you've likely never heard of.

And, maybe harder than the 'top movies that are better than the book' one...

Top 5 Remakes that are better than the originals.

Top 5 Remakes that are better than the originals.

*thinks about Hollywood-made Japanese Extreme remakes, winces*
That would be difficult and painful to research. How would one compare a modern remake to a 30's silent film, i wonder? i have the bad habit of only noticing remakes when i love a film and therefore reject the remake out-of-hand.  i will never forgive Cage for Wicker Man, fer' instance.  However, i'm sure there's something worth watching over the O-riginal here:
http://www.imdb.com/keyword/remake/?title_type=feature

Some good teen flicks : The Doom Generation , Clockwork Orange, Heathers, Clueless, Band of Outsiders
