I'm curious what others' experiences are with respect to their search filters on CM for their particular area.

Out here, in the south bay of San Francisco, I consistently find that only a score of female pervs fit my initial search criteria, the most stringent of which is that they be female, within 25 miles of 95101, and logged in within the past 3 months.

That search gets me about 20 people. So, it matters not that CM has millions of registered users - the total number of available users (not counting relocatables) is about twenty.

Curious what YOUR search criteria nets you of people who have logged in in the past 3 months.

I've not actually done a search but I would venture a few would pop up.

If I did a search I wouldn't limit myself to my zipcode or nearby but I would put relocatable. I would have a very broad age range as age is not important to me. I would not demand they be lesbian but they would have to be open to serving only a woman. I would not only search profiles with photos, or limit myself to only slaves.

I write the above simply because if I was indeed looking on here, I would wish to remove as many obstacles as possible.

I've been searching for dominante females on here to make friends with but it seems like once someone creates an account they do away with it. It's pretty sad.

That sounds about right; when I put the same parameters in my search (I am in Orange County) I get the same results.

Which is why I have commented before, that when you take the entire dating pool and narrow it down to kinky people, then further by geography, power orientation, and list of interests, the number of eligible partners we can find is amazingly small, even in large kink-friendly cities like SF and LA.

I think you are doing very well to find 20 with your very limited search area.  If I do a search for male Dominants in my area I'd find 5 and if I narrowed that down by age I'd find one.  Before I met Gary I found 1 of any age within 25 miles of where I lived.

Yes, that is very true.  Collarme is world wide and you are searching a tiny dot of area within that area.  Going to munches and events will yield you with more available submissives who are searching than you can find online.  You can also WOW those submissives with your personality in person rather than trying to get it across using pixels only.

It depends on where you are and how strictly you limit what you want. In our area, when I put in submissive males under age 35 within a certain radius, I had pages to sort through. When I changed that to ones with photos, it dropped dramatically. Many were logged in within the week, 3 months might have gotten me even more results.

Fox will get similiar hits for dominant females out here. We have never bothered looking for submissive females, couples or dominant males.

Interesting, because I've found both a previous and current friend with kinky benefits within 3 miles of me, and a previous more intense relationship within 2 miles of where I work,and have a meet and greet lined up later this week. And that's after other potentials and I mutually eliminated each other. Maybe all the kinksters are out here in Mayberry passing for vanilla?? (Or there's an extreme shortage of kinksters around here and we're all just settling, lol).

I don't search, but I decided to go and change the little criteria box to see what I came up with. And while I got more than 20, the question is, out of those 20+, how many are REALLY viable choices?? Not to go off topic, but I am just saying...

In the South Bay ,are you talking San Jose area eah do away with zip then you'll be busy going through them.Cant speak for any one else but I find they dont like to do the zip thing much as it narrows down their location in the event family/friends may come on site.Good Luck with your search.

Just out of curiosity I popped over onto the other side and put in my search parameters (35-55, local within 50 miles, Male Dominants, photos only) and got a BUNCH.  However, of those multitudes, very few appealed to me, or I know of them through play parties or others and know I'm not interested in them.  I never thought of myself as a picky person, but I just don't see the allure of the crotch shot or the weird purplepenis or cumhither screen names.

I never search but for this test I did today. Within 25 miles there are 25 men which might be viable. I have met 10 of those because I run a munch. Most of the ones I know are married, poly, or not seeking. I don't know about the other 15 but I would guess since the ones I do know are not suitable for me (I am monogamous), the odds are pretty high the others might not also be suitable.
Travel is a good thing.

I used this site, Fet and Alt when I was searching.  As others said, being a female submissive in a major city gave me a lot of options, 90% of which were eliminated based on profile alone.  I made the most friends here, but found more appealing partners on Alt (except for all those damned super tall sexxy and oh so far away European men anyway, what is with you hot Dutchmen?).  Not saying that's always the case, simply one girl's experience.  I think it's good to broaden your options as much as possible.

Seriously, there were more people available at the last munch I attended compared to what I came up with here.  While I applaud those who have made this site work in finding long term D/s dynamics, I consider this more a resource for just connecting with others for friendship and fun.  If that ever changes in My case, I'm going to rename Myself MistressMiracle.
