Its probably just a side effect of cabin fever and of missing my weekly fix of real football, (known as soccer in the colonies I believe), what with almost every match being cancelled due to arctic conditions.

Roll on the summer, South Africa, the world cup!

In American football a game is never cancelled for weather...rain, snow, mud, storm, on it goes...oh if the lightning gets too bad they may wait a few minutes before playing on. The weather is part of game strategy and the type of plays you run. It can give one team or another an advantage depending on if they are a running or passing team.

Oh that's that sport where they occasionally get the tape measure out to measure things, like they're about to do some on field cupboard furniture fitting in a room with measurement constraints.

I remember when I was younger I had a John Madden computer game but all I could get the player with the ball to do was stand there and shout "Red 22" and I didn't really know what I was doing in truth.

Red 22, Red 22
