Thank goodness they have found a way to verify our realness!

sappatoti -> RE: Latest scam (1/10/2010 6:37:55 PM)

Yep, so did I. The message to me came from "CMAnnouncement" but it lacked that special color that a lot of us already know so well.

Reported as scam. The site the so-called "CollarVerify" links to is one of those so-called free "verification" sites.

Lucylastic -> RE: Latest scam (1/10/2010 6:43:19 PM)

huge scam, if you click on the terms and privacy etc, it links to a site called "*******"
this is a copy of their privacy details
We use all of this information in the following ways:
1. to provide you with personalized marketing information via electronic delivery, telephone and/or direct mail;
2. to send you targeted advertising via electronic delivery, telephone, SMS text, and/or direct mail;
3. to contact you for feedback and surveys via electronic delivery, telephone and/or direct mail;
4. to send you general and administrative information about your Safe-Girls.net membership via electronic delivery, telephone and/or direct mail;
5. to provide your contact information to Safe-Girls.net marketing partners to allow them to send you special offers via electronic delivery, telephone and/or direct mail. This most often occurs when you request that we do so such as when completing an online survey; and
6. to deliver products to you for the purpose of review and testing.
you pays your money and takes your choice
Caveat emptor

Mod note: removed the name of the site so more people dont wind up going there.

WyldHrt -> RE: Latest scam (1/10/2010 6:44:31 PM)

This would be why official CM mail comes with a pretty gold border....

LafayetteLady -> RE: Latest scam (1/10/2010 9:38:33 PM)

Well, finally a scam that everyone should be made aware of! I didn't get one of those emails, but thanks for sharing. I hope it wasn't one of those horrific things that go around on facebook all the time that will steal any personal information. Although most of us don't really have much private information on there.

Thanks for letting me know.

mnottertail -> RE: Latest scam (1/10/2010 9:41:44 PM)

Where did your get these e-mails? In CM mail or your own private e-mails? I'm a big fan of hunting-down-and exposing scams - been doing it with a few friends for a while now - loads of fun :)

Lady Ellen: nicely doen with the lyrics!

Your plastic surgeons bills should have confirmed that

WyldHrt -> RE: Latest scam (1/11/2010 6:34:57 PM)

This shows two things- that scammers do read the boards and they are not all as stupid as some here think they are.

You'll find a little blurb about it up in the Administrative Announcements section, way up at the top.

Anyone else note that the follow up mail from Collarme Support to the scam mail was signed "Collame Support Team"?

Then again, I'm a spelling nazi.

But it just looked scammy.
