Here's a bit about it.  They were paid $50,000,000 over 3 years to distribute food stamp benefits in Florida alone.  This story also has a bit about how they were discovered outsourcing their call centers to India, instead of keeping the jobs here in the US.

I am not on stamps though I should be. I am content with getting my food each week by cash (or check if mom pays). This is a budgeted household so when we get steaks on sale, its special. Just cooked up 2 ribeyes and they were good.

It does however cost more to have the call center in the US. So be prepared for a larger amount of money to go to the food stamp program leaving less for other things or higher taxes. You can't have it both ways.

What companies dont make money off of food stamps I think should be more of the question.

Nothing wrong these days with being on them, Ive seen $50,000 plus a year households loose mostly everything due to company shut downs.

As long as those that are legitimately on them to help their situation, I personally dont see anything wrong with applying for them.

To be on them to use them as a gain twards money(i.e. selling them) then I have an issue with it.
