No, not the "bruthah" or "sistah" type. I'm talking about CM journals. Every once in a while a profile pops up and the journal window is black. If I highlight over the text area of the journal I can then read it. What gives? The first time I saw it I thought the author was just obtuse enough to use dark text on a black background. Maybe it's some setting issue on my side. Has anyone else seen this?

I usually have just a black journal...but no writing on it or anything. I just don't write in the journal very much but hey..I like the color black for the journal.

I had a dom once msg me that he was disappointed because he thought by highlighting the journal he'd find some mysterious enigmatic message meant for a dom smart enough to figure it out.

Sorry...I'm just too simple I guess.

I have thought that people who do this basically want others to take an effort to read their words... or maybe they are just cryptic folk

So it's not me. There are people who do this intentionally?

I have the same issue with an all "black box" on the "half page" profile view, though mostly it's with the top profile box and not so much the journal box.

My remedy for this is to just view the profile in "full page" view.

This "black box" phenomena only happens on a few profiles and only when using a WebKit based browser, such as Safari, Konqueror, or Chrome... and only on the Mac platform. I've had no "black box" problems using a Gecko based browser, such as Firefox or Camino, on the Mac.

Though I have no hard and absolute proof, I'm leaning towards the theory that since CM is run on a site using Microsoft server software, there's an encoding issue of some sort that the Mac/Windows combo has, causing the "black box" effect.

Once in a while I'll find a profile that may purposely use the same color for both the text and background, but not too often.

This happens with my journal and it is NOT intentional. Sometimes it looks fine, sometimes you can't read it without highlighting the text. It's annoying.
