Under a new law, France is to become the first country in the world to ban ' psychological violence' within marriage.

'Insidious': Couples who resort to 'psychological violence' during arguments could get criminal records under a new French law.


French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said electronic tagging would be used on repeat offenders


It would cover men who shout at their wives and women who hurl abuse at their husbands - although it was not clear last night if nagging would be viewed as breaking the law. 

The law is expected to cover every kind of insult including repeated rude remarks about a partner's appearance, false allegations of infidelity and threats of physical violence.

Status: offline 		Of course, the only way to prove such an offence would be to record it occurring. Then face the countersuit for breach of human rights (right to private life, security of communications etc). What a great day for the already very well overpaid French lawyers.

Then the authorities become the abuser, like our violent husband locking us up and disciplining us... for usurping their authority, essentially.

Status: offline 		Well i am sure that one is a internet hoax as our news don't report it. For sure they would have if there was anything in it. Besides they would need to build billions of Euros worth of new jails to hold the offenders.
Can somebody explain why it is normal for a man to be locked up for spousal abuse. If a woman do the same it is just a joke. A case in point was Tiger Woods little swedish golddiger and her assault with a deadly weapon (a golfclub).
