if A/anyone is searching for a worthy cause to give to, allow me to please pimp out the Polaris Project. perhaps pimp out might be offensive to the brilliant organization, and those that are fighting for human rights, but do look it up, and i think it could make for a lively discussion here.

I'm very glad that you have your pet project that you support.  It seems a very worthwhile organization.

I am curious about one thing.  Are you relating this in conjunction with a BDSM topic or is it just promotion?

Thanks, I'll check it out. It has nothing to do with BDSM, though.

But its Christmas. So here are some of my favorite charities:

I could go on, and I will. But right now, back to the subject at hand:

OP: To reiterate what I said above: although nonconsensual slavery has nothing to do with BDSM, I will now go and check out your link, thank you.

i would hardly call it a pet project, as i've limited personal involvement, and this i neglected to state in my post. i find it a most worthy and fascinating topic because of its philosophical relation to BDSM, obviously exclusive of the fundamental difference in consent of participation, admittedly, a large one, and i hoped it might be a relevant discussion here, not just a worthy cause to mention.

W/we here are consensually participating in O/our selected proclivities and those that are trafficked and used as slaves in the 'real world' are understood as to not having offered such consent, and my point is that some of the scenes W/we perpetuate are glaringly similar to these abhorrent injustices. i get notes from collarme members all of the time pleading to mimic scenes so much like these very same rapes, it has been removed from reality to the extent that it has been accepted by most P/players as a suitable fantasy, politically correct really only in O/our little bubble, because victims of trafficking are praying to escape the nightmare of bondage, sexual exploitation, and psychological coercion.
just groovin on my perversity, basically.

why does this play turn some of U/us on, while the actions broken down in activities fantasized about are a real and wretched state of affairs actually destroying lives?

what makes a brain wired or a psyche responsive to pain or subjugation when the human condition begs to be free? how did this paradox become my freedom behind closed doors, is one of the things i wonder when i consider the sad fate of others not born on top.

is that what W/we tell O/ourselves to make them have nothing to do with each other? i think they do on some level, primarily because i live in a universe where everything is interconnected. to me it seems obvious that there are shades of gray and some serious overlap relating to these topics at hand.

haven't you known people that have yet to fine tune their dominance, isn't it safe to assume that the traffickers could very well be that type of personality? haven't Y/you met Tops that are greedy and behave in ways outside the parameter of consent?

i sure as hell know "slaves" that don't play by the rules they pretend to embrace...
not that i lose any sleep over naughty poser slaves :)

ladycirce, I think its a very worthwhile charity but I have to say that to suggest traffickers could be men that haven't yet had the opportunity to fine tune their dominance is about as far away from reality as me putting on a latex puppy outfit and running around barking.
Traffickers are men, sometimes women, that have sociopathic type personalities. This is not about them feeding a kink. All they are interested in is moving bodies and getting money for it.
The scene brings the good the bad and the ugly with it. It brings the sane and the insane. It brings the tolerant and the intolerant and it brings one hell of a lot of questioning people.
Its ok to fantasize about the modern slave trade so long as we remind ourselves that the reality of that fantasy is hell, not sexy, not titillating and absolutely nothing to do with BDSM. It crosses over no more than anything else outside of this kink.

I find it offensive to link this abhorrent activity to my Dominance in any way.

To do so means you don't understand it.

I don't mimic crimes. By your logic you should also be posting this with film makers who mimic abduction, rape etc in movies. Just in case any of the actors are non consensual.

You really think people smugglers are 'fine tuning' their dominance? Or the reverse? That Dominants are looking to abduct and rape to complete their resume?

Or maybe it's just evil people using poverty and human misery to make money.

Don't use charity to lecture people. It tends to lower the donations.

Greetings,

This is a course for this time of year and a way that all can thank those who gave their lives defending our homes and way of life.

http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/wreaths.asp The story.

The website:
http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/

verity does not donat to the organisation due to active commitments to other organisations, including Amnesty International and Greenpeace.

If this is not for you, then verity asks that you find an organisation that you can support, even if it is only with a few hours or a few dollars. Every little bit helps.

verity

edited to remove double posting of name.

i do not know You, so obviously i know nothing of Your dominance. one of the things i like about the scene is that E/everyone has a different style, likewise, even pimps and traffikers have different styles and motivations for dominance.

You do not at all seem to see the spirit of my query, nor have You taken the time to actually address the fun parts or questions of my post.

do i really think some of those things? no, i stated that it was an idea, i wondered on a message board in case A/anyone had some ideas to share, and You picked up on a tiny piece of a response to a reply and possibly confused the context of my statements. if You had concerned Yourself about actually responding instead of lecturing and using the post to make assumptions You may have noticed that i was wondering why BDSM activities so alien to vanilla folk and directly related to sex crime activity solely by the motions of said activity and pardoned by virtue of consent are images and ideas that turn many of U/us on.

no, i wouldn't turn ab lovers into to catch a predator. no, i wouldn't call a slave auction at a S&M club into the coast guard. film, video and photography have release forms for authorities to refer to, what the heck does that have to do with anything. this is the "logic" You brought to the conversation?

i seems as if You are the one lecturing here, and i do find most of Your reply simply off base.
