Self-bondage seems to focus a lot on the ability to get out of the bonds you used on yourself. But, what if you didn’t need to be able to get back out? What if you wanted to be able to tie yourself and lie in wait for your mistress? Specifically, how do you tie your arms and legs spread eagle to a four poster bed very tightly and inescapably? Does anyone know how I could do that or know of any resources on this topic? I can easily manage to tie down my legs and one arm but I can’t figure out how to get that last arm tight. Please help!

I believe your mistress may have the answer...

And by the way, for some... "don't move" is the most delicious and effective of all bondage.

But, what if you DID need to get out?

The reason self bondage focuses on the ability to get out is because if you couldn't get out it wouldn't be safe. So many unexpected things can happen.....

Ummm, what if mistress has an emergency that delays her return several hours or she gets in a car wreck on the way home? Best case scenario, she walks in to find you soaked in your own piss on the bed or gets to hear how the neighbor had to break in to let you loose. Worst case scenario, you wind up cooked medium well in a house fire. Not really a stellar idea, guy.

Isn't there a "good" friend you could call over to help you out or in as the case may be? Or could your Mistress put you in whatever position She and you agree on or want, then leave you until it is time to come back home? Otherwise, I would suggest something tight like molded leather, PVC or rubber with a zipper that you can attach a tog or something to - to be able to place it between your teeth and pull until it was all done up then it drops down somewhere you can't reach. Then you could be trussed up, privately, until your Mistress comes home and discovers you ... Maybe.

Well the obvious answer to me is to bind three points and use cuffs on the forth. . . . and real cuffs, not toy/novelty release cuffs. . . .  and no, no safety lectures from me lol

Please see the 'Alternate Lifestyles in the News' forum for several examples of why leaving someone who is tied up/ immobilized alone is a Very Bad Idea. Most of the stories you will find on this subject result in the Dominant facing criminal charges when shit happens and the sub dies.

As an actual activity, I do not approve of "inescapable" self bondage for the safety issues shared by others.

As a mental exercise tho I would probably engineer a Rube Goldberg type of device with pulleys  and latches that can be triggered by some kind of lever (or as simply as kicking a weight off the end of the bed like somebody mentioned).

Well we all have different risk tollarences. Climbing K2 is practically a suicide mission, but some people still do it.

If you understand the risks and still wish to do something.. More power to you.

Probably the biggest risk is your mistress not comming over when you thought she would and thus being bound longer than expected. The risk of this is probably the greatest. Thus I wouldn't recommend binding yourself in too restrictive of a mannor that effects circulation. As long as you are comfortable enough to be bound in a certain way for hours.. Most likely the worst that would happen is you have to pee yourself.

But what if hours turned into days? As a failsafe.. I would leave yourself a way to contact someone if you need help. But realize that there is a risk inthat also.. Power coouldgo out, cellphone battery dies, etc.

Just know what the risks are before you decide to do it. :)

It is very simple to tie yourself on a bed. Secure both ankles and one wrist. Then use a piece of rope anchored to one corner of the bed with a slip knot tied in the free end. Make sure the rope with slip knot tied in it has almost no slack in it. Stick your free wrist into the slip knot and pull it tight,(but not too tight as to cut off circulation0 and you are there until someone releases you.

Wow, what to say.  Somehow my question has been turned into an after school special.  I definitely didn’t say anything about being home alone but after re-reading my post I guess I could see how one could jump to that conclusion.  I am looking to use self-bondage to set up our scene while my wife is taking a bath or finishing up some work or something along those lines.

Thanks for all the great ideas!  I think I am going to give the ratchet a try soon, but really love some of the other ideas as well!

Just out of curiousity have you run this idea past your Mistress to make sure she approves of you putting yourself into that dangerous a situation? I know if you were mine even considering something like that would have you on punishment. Is it possible, yes. Are you willing to subject yourself to the potential dangers, possibly without your Mistress's permission? Thats for you to answer. If you are planning on doing this as a surprise, then you risk the possibility of her not knowing you are bound and not making the trip to see you much of a priority.

Ryeguy91 has the simplest solution.  Real handcuffs and obviously you don't have the key.

Of course people have brought up many valid safety concerns already.  I think at the very least you should at least tell a friend or two... "Hey I'm doing this thing... if you don't hear from me within 24 hours do me a favor and send someone over to my house..."

That way you might die in a fire but at least you won't expire from dehydration...
