When there's storm outside..
why does the air pressure sometimes drop inside?

Because it is a low pressure area.

Does it make your hair kinky?

Because no building is perfectly sealed, if I understand your question. Air leaks in or out all the time. If the pressure rises outside, air leaks in. If the pressure goes down outside, air leaks out until the pressure inside is the same as the pressure outside. Otherwise houses would be blowing up or collapsing every time a weather system moves through.

pahunkboy -> RE: Stormy weather (11/12/2009 1:44:34 PM)

those systems knock me out.

Well dayum! And no my hair didn't end up like a funky mothafucka.. just felt like I was high for a split second..or two or three while I was getting over it. It's funky. Always comes once in a while..sometimes it's just on for days.. I've just never been able to figure out whyyyyyyyyyyy this happens....and I agree with pahunk.. they knock me out too!

You and I will have to agree to disagree about that.
It is true that this movie is not her best rendition, but
Lena Horne doing that song will always be better than
anybody else doing it.

But Etta James is a fine talent and does own At Last.

Louve00 -> RE: Stormy weather (11/13/2009 6:03:24 AM)

LOL, not meaning to hijack the thread but didn't Etta James get mad at Beyonce for singing that song to the Obama's on inauguration night?  I guess she does feel she owns it.  (But she does have a great voice!)

Aneirin -> RE: Stormy weather (11/14/2009 6:53:26 AM)

I was wondering about the pitot/static  effect caused by fast air moving passed the building, sucking the static air inside out, much like the pitot static system on an aircraft used to measure air speed, altitude, mach number and altitude trend.

The other effect could be vacuum effect, fast moving air drawing the slow or static air out, thus causing the pressure change.

But regards stormy weather, when the wind is blowing the rain horizontal, I love it !
