Wow. just wow. I had a great, almost life changing, time last night! I'm sure it depends on the club, but the one I went to was fabulous. Really nice people, great atmosphere. It wasn't very crowded and there was the perfect mix (for me) of voyeurs and players. I mean I am an exhibitionist so I wanted some people looking at me (concieted much ;-) ?) But I also wanted to have scenes to watch. I know public stuff isn't for everyone. But if anyone out there is at all curious DO NOT hesitate to check out a club. It was not at all as "scary" as I though it would be. The one I went to has a monthly a non-play social for non-members to come check the place out. They also have free educational nights (also non-play) for non-members. From a total BDSM newbie to any other newbie that is out there reading this: A club is great place to start getting involved. SO much better than a chat room! Can't wait to go back! I'm probably preaching to the choir but I had so much fun! I really wanted to share. If anyone feels like sharing positive (or negative I guess, if you need to) BDSM club experiences, do it here. If not, I hope this thread inspires my fellow noobs to get out and try one out. Thanks!

Congratulations!!! I agree, I've had nothing but wonderful experiences at the Citadel in San Francisco . . . . . All those out there who are kinky & might want to play in a BDSM club, but let their fears, trepidations, anxieties, pre-conceptions & etc get in the way of going to a 'public' dungeon play party are soooooooooooo missing out . . . . . . .

I'm jealous. I don't think such clubs exist in my community. There was one that was open briefly last year, but from what I heard it was more swingers meet-up than anything. and the guy who ran the place is kind of a notoriously skeezy businessman so the place didn't stay open long.

I drive 3 or 4 hours to get to San Francisco, & it's well worth it . . . . . ETA: Not sayin' that's an option for you, Lucienne, jus' sayin' . . . . . .

Yeah... if I drive 3 or 4 hours, I end up in Wichita, Des Moines, or Springfield (MO, home of Assemblies of God). But Chicago is an easy enough flight. :)

Greetings Lucienne.... There are two clubs in the Chicago area that I know of, the Galeria Domain 2 and the Sins Center. They are mostly open only on weekends I gather, I don't go there. Be well.... Malkinius

Congrats on your first time out! If you are traveling on vacation or business, in DC there's The Crucible - excellent for newbs (just watch out for the nights they do the swingers' parties, if you're not into that). In Pittsburgh we have the Steel Sanctuary - very friendly and welcoming.

I agree... clubs are great places to socialize, watch some great scenes and be an exhibitionist. My favorite club in the UK is Crimson because its fairly hard core but we have some other great clubs in London like ClubRub, Subversion, Torture Garden (though that is busy with a capacity of over 2500) and Sweet Torments. Lots of clubs out in the sticks too.

There's a local place that I take my little girl to every once in a while that's pretty cool. But in the south / central Florida area...The Woodshed is just great! Great energy, friendly staff, lots of room (Though I did hear they were moving) and they have winches. I love winches. The only thing better than a winch is my little girl hanging from one. Winches and wenches and rope...oh my!

I was very pleased with the trip that clip and I made to Edges about a month and a half ago. The club was very clean and the staff very courteous. There are some links in the Upcoming Events section for the place, so it's easily looked up. I'm not a member there, but would be if I had a regular play partner in that location.

I haven't been to Edges yet, but my BDSM buddy lives down there now & goes all the time -- she likes Edges better than the Citadel, & she likes the Citadel a lot . . . . . . So, I can't wait. One of these days . . . . . &, Maria, you should feel the jealousy / envy radiating from me, all the way over there in the UK. I knew you people were huge pervs, that's what I've been saying for years -- the Brits & the Germans are huge perverts, there's tons of fetish stuff in the UK & Germany. & see, ya just 'proved' me right (ETA: about the UK). What is that, a half dozen clubs in London alone? Yeah, jealous. Freakin' envious Anglophile here . . . . I've been to Edges, and the Citadel ... and well, if I go with someone I have a great time ... but being a guy, the mileage may vary greatly ... being a lurker is no fun whatsoever ... so, generally, neither is fun anymore ... Sigh ...
