i'd have to agree with Pompeii.  YMMV.  i do enjoy BDSM clubs, and i am active locally.  However, if you don't have a partner that you are attending with, then you will probably just end up as a spectator, which isn't as much fun as participating.

i've also found that there are usually far more dominant males looking for submissive females than there are dominant females looking for submissive males to play with.  So if you ARE unattached, your chances of finding someone to play with are usually much greater if you are a submissive female.  But i guess that is probably to be expected.

Clubs aren't really our cup-of-tea (the whole thing just seems so... contrived, for lack of better word), but if you enjoyed yourself (and it sounds like you surely did), that's all that matters. [:D]

We keep trying clubs, hoping to find one that we like. Unsuccessful as of yet.
There always seems to be single male trolls lurking, which to us is a turnoff.

I'm glad you had fun! My Master and I mostly play in private, but my playpartner and I go to one of the local dungeons fairly frequently, and all three of us have gone to some private playparties, which I tend to prefer - it's a smaller, more intimate/friendly atmosphere.

Pompeii and Rochsub, I agree that women tend to get more spur-of-the-moment play invitations at parties If instead of asking people to play that evening, you ask for a coffee date to discuss playing in the future, you might have better luck. Back when I did casual play for a while, I routinely turned down anyone who wanted to just have at it right then, but was open to getting to know them better. So, I generally didn't attend any parties solo, even when I knew some of the people who would be there.
