ORIGINAL: Darcyandthedark Getting exhausted easily could be a variety of things. Dehydration is one, so drink lots of fluid whilst you exercise. Your diet is important and without know what you consume, it might play a factor. If Orion permits, you can always message me on the other side. Poor posture (causing cramp) and breathing can exhaust you too. Yoga is good for posture and breathing. It's cool to use as a relaxer, but for exercise I wouldn't recommend it. It's more a centring thing - good if you suffer with a bad back or rolled shoulders or just want to be 'quiet'. Starting with breathing exercises first and ending with them is a good way to warm up and wind down. Pilates is more physical and better for exercise, unless you have back issues - then consult your doctor (if you do it at home) or go to a class and consult the trainer. Walking or power walking is good. If you really get into it then you can buy walking sticks to help aid your movement. If you are set in doing it in your own home and you have a wii, then the active games are fun! Dancing is another good form of exercise, but you really need classes for that. edit to add - belly dancing you can do alone at home - there are websites and videos you can follow - but if you join a class you get to make friends! the.dark. Yep, I will second what .dark. said, what she says is good, and makes a whole lot of sense. My history is, well, I tried the Gym, weights and all, but it was not for me, Iyengar yoga is good, but you definately need instruction and a buddy in that, pilates, done that one an exercise ball helps immensely, but now I believe I have found my perfect exercise, which can be done at home and requires no props. It is what the .dark. mentiioned, bellydancing. I do it in class, and at home as a daily exercise, I do the warm up and cool down routine at least, no more than ten minutes. If I am feeling energetic, I will practice some of the moves, or try to piece parts of choreographies together, but on the whole, day to day, is just the warm ups and cool downs. What I personally have noticed these past eight months of doing it, is firstly I have not got bored and dropped out, the usual route I seem to take to stop things. I now have control of my lower back issues and I seem to have shed some useless body material, namely hips, as my dance belt needs adjusting. The increased fitness, and body mobility is working in other ways and I am now wondering, why the hell I didm't take up dancing long ago, for it is the perfect exercise, and one is having fun doing it.
