It really depends where you want to get married, say you want to get married in Vegas, you don't need much time to plan, they do everything for you, all you really need to worry about is an open date I got married out of the country and we started about 18 months before, most of that time was spent waiting for responses from places in the other country (Greece) also getting all the paperwork correct. There is a ton of paperwork and it all needs to be translated. Since you where both married before, check and make sure the with state or country you are getting married in to see if they need copies of your divorce paperwork before they will issue a marriage license If you are getting married out of the USA, you will have to go to the US Embassy and have a new passport issued if you change your name. If you keep your name then all you have to do is drop off the paperwork (marriage license) at the embassy so they can record your marriage. Also if you are out of the country and you change your name, let the airlines know this and what your new name will be so they can have the correct ticket for you
