We started about a year in advance with most of that done in the 6 months preceeding the wedding. On the other hand we had alot of very talented friends who were able to help us make it special every step of the way.

It really depends where you want to get married, say you want to get married in Vegas, you don't need much time to plan, they do everything for you, all you really need to worry about is an open date

I got married out of the country and we started about 18 months before, most of that time was spent waiting for responses from places in the other country (Greece) also getting all the paperwork correct.  There is a ton of paperwork and it all needs to be translated.

Since you where both married before, check and make sure the with state or country you are getting married in to see if they need copies of your divorce paperwork before they will issue a marriage license

If you are getting married out of the USA, you will have to go to the US Embassy and have a new passport issued if you change your name.  If you keep your name then all you have to do is drop off the paperwork (marriage license) at the embassy so they can record your marriage.

Also if you are out of the country and you change your name, let the airlines know this and what your new name will be so they can have the correct ticket for you

I love this dress and think it would be perfect. Although my only concern is ordering it online. (lol)

An outside wedding. A fog machine going, tomb stones and grave stones scattered around. Guests in costumes (optional obviously). Me holding a bouquet of black calla lilies walking through the grave yard to a crypt (of sorts) him stepping out to meet me. Dressed like Lious from Interview with a Vampire. Instead of kissing the bride he would bite the bride. (lol)

The reception would be like a Halloween carnival with tables covered in red satin and black lace. Red and black goblets.lots of red and black candles. A fountain with blood at the head table. Have games like bobbing for apples and dancing. To make it fun for the adults and kids. As party favors I was thinking along the line of 2 halloween cookie cutters tied together with red and black ribbon.

Since it seems you won't really need major dress alterations, you already have it picked out and can just order it online, your flower arrangements are simple and it seems you have the details worked out for the most part, I'd say the only concern you'll have is booking a hall or church if you are getting married by a priest. Even then I'd say a year or so should be fine.

Now should you change your mind and want an elaborate wedding....now is already too late lol.

Let's not forget finding a reasonably priced "fog machine"
I found this place for you, Devil. http://tottevents.aetherquest.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=73&category_id=380&flypage=flypage-ask.tpl&lang=en&page=shop.product_details&product_id=1866&vmcchk=1&Itemid=73

It's in Rockville so now you have an excuse to visit!

How far in advance did you start planning? I feel silly but I already have ideas running through my head. I don't want to use a wedding planner of anything of that nature I want to do it myself. So when is to soon?
Ive only just booked our wedding venue and nothing else, i have 8 months to go! I have no idea were to start

This will be fun! eeeek!

goodluck!! ill be bookmarking this thread for tips too xx

I LOVE Halloween weddings! Love! Never been to one (Halloween not being popular here in Australia) but it is just a fun and exciting theme. And so versatile, one could do so much with it.

I don't think you can ever start planning too early, really. If you've started collecting things for the decorations, centrepieces etc then you won't be rushing around trying to find that kind of thing closer the day, when you'll have all sorts of issues with venues and catering etc.

Congratulations! If you're still posting in 2011, I want photos!

-Kama.
