It is funny. I am going back to school, back to the gym, back to work and playing world of warcraft on a full time basis. I am also trying to learn more about piercings. Another avenue I am pursuing is becoming s certified sex/life counselor. I am not too busy to post here like I used to, I just do not. I was really into 3 gals here too. They all seemed like amazing women, I do not think we typed about getting laid either or meet ups - they were just good people.

I have also noticed myself getting more involved with off line issues relevant to non-theism as I truly believe nothing can be accomplished here.

A lot of people agreed and disagreed with what I said. Onlt here for a few months it I pushed it seems my topics could have went on for ages. I always feel compelled to be here but dedicate time to other useless hobbies. I think about the people I talked with..... I had no friends so no one to miss really.

I wonder is the nature of all forums? People are fairly active for a few months then change direction? Not really because of time or lack of it. Just for other reasons - hmmm

TTYAL I am sure one day. As I still always feel compelled to be as active as I once was.

I smiled when i read this, then looked at the picture of my husband, who i met here. The picture was taken as they placed our newborn baby in his arms for the first time.

I also think of so many friends i have made here. I treasure each of them in ways i can never express.

Esinn...open your eyes and your heart and you will be amazed at what can be accomplished here.

How I HATE agreeing w/the Clumsy One but she's right. Stick around, make some friends, give it a chance.

Your anti religion threads weren't new ideas, that is why.

Other than that, some people stick around and some do not.  Usually the people with long attention spans and who are able to deal with commitment are the ones who stick with anything - including forums, friendships, hobbies etc.  That doesn't mean they have to participate everyday.  But it does mean we can notice those who are worth having a relationship with because they have the ability to commit.

I play Warcraft and I don't know how you sleep if your playing full time and doing all those other things. I don't sleep and I'm only working, posting here and playing Warcraft. Maybe if you slept you would not be so fragmented?

Everyone has their own path in life. Ones own hubris to think if this site is no longer beneficial in your life that it should not be beneficial in others or think you can convince others that your views and ways are the best. There is no permanency in life as change is inevitable and when one changes it is not a judgment of condemnation of the past but one continuing on their path.

I am another who found my guy on this site. I take the message board for what it is and do know one thing that it is not for certain, my identity or where I seek validation of my beliefs and choices from.

What Holly said was really touching and awesome.

I recall your tirades across the forums, Esinn.  Quite frankly, am pleased not to see your posts.  You had no friends because you didn't show people anything likable about yourself.

I am sorry I do not remember you, but I have to say your photo alone would be a reason for me to tune you out.

It appears to be a photo of a man with some serious issues that I would avoid both online and in person.

Just FYI: the door swings quickly, and that decorator knob has a nasty point on it.

Ok, ok, fare well, wherever you fare.

FR, after read thru

Ah, eh, okay. I'm midway between:

Well, what were your expectations?

&

Don't slam the door on your way out . . . . .

The latter is clearly too late . . . .

But if you're dissatisfied, unhappy, or similar with your results, one of the handiest solutions is to examine your expectations . . . . . For whatever that's worth . . . .

A "mad" man doesn't know it......A self proclaimed "mad" man is playing a role.

I don't get it.

The OP's thread title is "compelled to be here" and then goes on to state that he gets nothing from the site and makes his opening statement a goodbye of sorts.

um, yeah.... whatever.

um, yeah.... whatever.

I had the impression that some god had sent him on a mission to convert CollarMe people who believe in the Divine, or God, or are spiritually aware, or belong to any religion, to the teachings of non-theism.

It did not help that he did not know what he was talking about.
He could not even define God / god. Nor did he deign to respond to my reasonable definition of the Divine being my pillow.

Tony…good to know your name. You seem intelligent but intelligence is not a guarantee of success in this world. Your character needs to be tempered with humility before you can overcome prejudiced views that may be incorrect. This allows you to consider alternate views that can open doors to new knowledge and enrich your life. I’m not talking religion but life in general.

Consider that you are too young and inexperienced to know with certainty anything. Put away your toys...open your mind …be tolerant of others and live learn and grow.

You may have much to say but unless you are willing to listen and consider their views no one will pay attention to you.

Butch

perhaps this is a distraction or merely isn't filling the void you'd hoped it would. your continued participation regardless of real time interruptions, relationships, etc. would be testament of a sincere desire to be part of an online community of this nature. it is commonplace to take a hiatus when warranted or necessary, but people usually return when their period of isolation is behind them.

only you know what brings you here and what is taking you away. the lack of friendships is by your own making. if you wanted to have real connections you'd allow them to occur and extend yourself in this way. what i glean from everything that is said and not said is that in this moment you sincerely wish to be heard. rather than focus on what you're not receiving, you may wish to ask others what you can do to have the very thing you seek.
