Do car alarms go off if a car is roughed up too much, or did they arm the alarm with the doors unlocked... did I missing something?

Can't wait to see the insurance claim. Nothing stolen, all new upholstery required.
Let's just hope it waited till back in the woods to do what bears do in the woods.

Out damned typo!

Mine will. All it takes is my three year old bouncing a rubber ball off of the fender.

Well...it also could have been from me bellowing "STOP THAT!!!!!"

I love living in hicksville.    I never get wakened by car alarms.    Back in Chicago the rain would set off the neighbors boat alarm.  Man we had some good times on that boat...

Does your car do that without someone setting the alarm?

the alarm is automatically set when i lock the doors.

Holly, cpK69 has a good point. The car door apparently was unlocked and the alarm went off anyway. Or did the bear break a window and climb in if the door was locked?

I can't see a bear yanking so hard on the handle that it forces the car to unlock the doors.

Ah!!

Probably not the same situation then.... unless the bear broke in (right?), but then, why couldn't it get out?

Kim, I just reread the article. The alarm didn't go off. The bear managed to bang into the light which turned on when it was pressed. They looked out the window and saw the light on and a big guy moving around in there.

My brother looked out of his weekend house once and saw some big guy in a dark coat trying to break into the garage. He ran out onto the porch claiming he had a gun and then hit the panic button on his keys. Sure enough the dark coat was a fur coat and it was a bear trying to get to the bird seed stored there.
