i'm of the opinion that you should be true to yourself. the intent is not to appeal to the masses but those that are most compatible instead. if saccharine sweet isn't your thing don't present yourself in that manner. if you have a tongue in cheek sense of humor that represents your personality then go with it. i've had profiles that were very matter of fact. i had a list of hell no's and they never stopped people from sending messages and expressing interest. i found the opposite to be true instead. it seemed to encourage them, particularly those that didn't fit the demographic i am seeking. perhaps some like rejection, i don't know. in the end you're seeking one, not a gang of maybe's. the person that is most suitable will appreciate your uniqueness and take no offense at the quirks. in fact you may discover you have a few of the same. at least that is what i've noticed in my interactions. best of luck. porcelaine

The profile gives me a different (and less favorable) view of you than your forum posts. It starts out well but ends on a sour note. Frankly, it's a little puzzling. I've always enjoyed your writings and your sense of humor, but this sounds like a different person entirely. I realize you want to be honest, but there may be a more tasteful way to do it. The Lookie who posts on the forums sounds like someone I'd like to get to know; the Lookie who wrote the profile? Not so much. You asked for opinions - there's mine.
