On Monday, September 14, 2009, Patrick Swayze passed, 20 months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His family, according to reports, were with him, including his wife of over 30 years, Lisa Neimi.
Patrick was one of my favorite actors and I first saw him at a very young age in the initial airing of the "North and South" mini-series and was in thrall thereafter. I watched every Patrick Swayze movie I could find and there are some good ones. He's the first man I remember having actual sexual 'stirrings' over. And, in his prime, he was beautiful: wonderful to look at as well as having that gorgeous Southern accent.
That the suffering is over is a mercy.
I hope that his wife is able to carry on. They appeared to share an uncommon bond of love and friendship.
