ORIGINAL: puella Ariadne didn't kill anyone, she saved Theseus from the minotaur (the string the string) From Wikipedia's bit on Theseus: "On the return journey Theseus abandoned Ariadne on the island of Naxos. The next day Ariadne cursed him to forget to change the black sail to white. ... seeing the black sail, Aegeus committed suicide by throwing himself into the sea (hence named Aegean)" That's the version I remember. However, several other versions are quoted in Wikipedia, which do not involve Ariadne's part in Aegeus' death, and the Wikipedia bit on Ariadne does not mention her causing his death at all. So that my impression of her guilt is not universal as I thought it was.
