Rainfire -> Memo to cats & dogs (9/11/2009 4:12:54 PM)

Just got this in my email and had to share, it gave me a good laugh when I needed it most. [:)]

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food.. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a
claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort.  However, dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to
each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible.
I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.   That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.)
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people..
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they
(1) eat less,
(2) don't ask for money all the time,
(3) are easier to train,
(4) normally come when called,
(5) never ask to drive the car,
(6) don't hang out with drug users,
(7) don't smoke or drink,
(8) don't want to wear your clothes,
(9) don't have to buy the latest fashions,
(10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and
(11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children .

Ummm. . . are you saying that you can't do this if they are NOT pets?

Damnit!  There goes my retirement fund.  *sigh*

Giggles hysterically....

DesFIP -> RE: Memo to cats & dogs (9/12/2009 2:31:24 PM)

I really love the "fur"niture line.

Rainfire -> RE: Memo to cats & dogs (9/12/2009 5:56:00 PM)

I loved the whole thing - OMG, it's something that I could have said verbatim to my cats. I wasn't feeling that great and it came in the email right when I really needed the laugh. I'm thinking of printing out the "Non-Pet Owners" rules on nice paper and framing it then hanging it right on the wall you see as you walk in the front door.  [:D]

Phoenixpower -> RE: Memo to cats & dogs (9/12/2009 6:24:58 PM)

gosh, thats hillarious...though I can't really agree to eating less (well, they do but if you put it in proportion..then I doubt...today even my homeless herbie was happy that I gave her food and my little birman pig made sure she gets hold off it at first), and yes, they don't ask for money but my pepper begs every day for her fucking treats and does not stop doing so even when I don't have any for days...she is stubborn to request them and therefore DOES spend my money when I give my ears a relief about her begging and get her fucking treats (I never had a cat before which was as addicted as she is to that stuff), I doubt that they are easier to train and spicy could not be bothered to come at all today...he was sitting right in front of me outside, looking at me like "nah..i can't be bothered to come...you still have that little on in there which I don't want to live there so I prefer to stay outside..."....well, if they don't hang out with drug users... I don't know...I guess they don't but I would not rely on it...curry developed such a temperament...he might be on drugs actually...and ok, they don't want to wear my clothes but they love to sleep on it when I don't put it away straight away...so they do "wear" them somewhat...

I love it especially the non-pet owner rules!

SweetDommes -> RE: Memo to cats & dogs (9/12/2009 11:52:43 PM)

My parents and I go round and round about my choice to have animals and call them my kids. The fact that I call them with "come to mama" really bothers my dad - oh well. lol

However, it missed my favorite arguments for "cats/dogs, not kids"
- there are no arguments about what to eat
- there are no arguments about going to school
- there are no arguments about doing homework
