I see your point <forgetting whether my situation is "typical"> your not seeing any of mine. The combined "quality and cost ratio of health care" Is the ENTIRE point. I don't get why you cant see that. What makes you think for one minute that cuz the govt is paying that your health care is going to be as good as it is now? And less expensive?
I see where you going with this because of the choices you made in your life you have to purchase your own ins. And the choices I made I dont have to pay for mine. For whatever reason your upset about it. The choices you made are costing you 700 a month. And Now you want a "government bailout" because some of your choices left something to be desired. If you want to argue that health care is a "right" That to me is another discussion.
You seem to minimize my service to the country for 6 years. Like it was some sort of joke. To that I say literally I put my life on the line for 6 years protecting you.
Just because I "didn't get shot at" does not mean for one minute that I was not prepared to "get shot at". You have no clue what it is like to be sitting on the flight line with the entire battalion 3000 folks. And all your stuff loaded into a C 5A transport including the choppers. Total Blackout ie no one leaves the base for 3 or 4 days. Everyone is walking around with a weapon. Meanwhile at 18 years old thinking your prolly going to die in some jungle in freaking boliva. Meanwhile your friends are back home getting high.
I get the impression that you think us veterans are undeserving of VA benefits. Tell that to the guy with no legs down at the VA today that I was talking to, who put his life on the line so you wouldn't have to. I have a great appreciation and respect for anyone that was in the military. We Vets are like the cop on the corner. Once the shit starts you go hide. Us vets lock and load and hunt the evil doers down. So I really don't want to hear anymore how I am somehow "un deserving" At the VA hosp most of the staff treats us like heroes.

Never would i say anyone who served is not entitled to their benefits, an that includes health care. You were willing to do as commanded, even die, and for that willingness, you deserve what you have.
The health care debate isnt about deserving. No one wants to take away what you have. Yes, we all make decisions in life. Not everyone can serve, are physically able to serve. I dont see that as choices.
What vets have is theirs. I would not support anyone who wants to take that away, no more than i would support anyone taking away what the Elderly have with Medicare.
We are asking (those who are asking for health care) for affordable rates, and the ability to actually get insurance. One pre-existing condition, and you are denied. Job change, and your screwed yet again. To pay for private insurance is cost prohibitive for many americans, since half the country makes below 35000 a year.
Ok, im going to drop off my soap box because i could go on and on. I thank you for your service, and would wish to deny you nothing of the benefits you were promised and receive.
