Could someone explain to me how we can get letters in our inbox from people who don't have a profile or an account?

Whenever I get one like that, which is not too often but it does happen, like today, its almost always some bullshit letter from somebody who wants to screw with your mind.

I don't get it. But then I don't get a lot of stuff here so fuck me?

If you feel so strongly about it perhaps you could select that tick box in your mail settings to automatically move all messages from someone with no profile to your bulk mail folder thus never having to read another one ever again?

Some people come here to talk with people they have met via cmail and they don’t need a profile to do so.

There's your answer right there. Some wanker sent out letters to every female on cm. By the time you got around to reading yours, he racked up so many complaints that his account was removed.

It seems like received mails don't get deleted even after the sender gets removed from CM.

Also this is another reason why some scammers write "I have got a strange problem with my account: I can send mails but can't read them, so write back to h0tslave4u @ blabla. com" in their mails and soon-to-be-removed profiles. (The primary reason is to redirect the talk outside CM,though)

Sort of like how your profile on "the other side" doesn't exist? ;-)

Perhaps the sender used the "PM" link that appears at the bottom left of each post you make in the fora. I haven't actually tried sending a private message that way without benefit of my "other side" profile being active so I can't say it will work, but it is a possibility.
