but for the record I'd support ya buying them 'cause well ya can't just bein on a nice horse ya gotta have da look too
n it's not like you're always buying boots...ooor are ya!!

Status: offline 		No, the last pair of boots I bought to ride in was........thinkinggggg.......over a decade ago.

The last pair of boots I bought to do anything in was a pair of insulated, ankle high, lace up, work boots. Purely functional and necessary. Nothing sexy or glam at all.

I don't know who or what H&M is, and Vic Secrets....not exactly made for my lifestyle.

Still resisting.

Another bill I don't need.

I am going to wait and see, after I sit down and pay bills this week, just how broke I am.

Who knows, maybe duct tape is more insulating! After all, colder weather is coming.

Status: offline 		Fox and I have a weakness for entertainment. Our fix is a used book store here not far from where we are that deals in trade as well as cash. We have not and I wont allow us to pay full price for books, games or movies unless it is a brand new release and it is a holiday or some special occasion. We have very little interest in stuff otherwise, I dont like clothes shopping and aside from Fox's need for shirts we dont do clothes often either. Books for me and games for him, though, is a different story. We have  $20 a month budget for entertainment of that sort, and at McKays that goes quite a long ways. My last 3 novels colst less than $1 for all of them

I dealing with the same situation and have had to become a very savvy bargain shopper and bypass many items. Eventually the financial situation will improve but for now frugality rules.

Status: offline 		If I see something I really want, I hold back from buying it for 2 or 3 days, and if the want is still there, I buy it. You only live once, so you might as well make yourself happy as often as you can.

Same here - books, DVDs and CDs are all I'm ever tempted to buy. Since I began working at the library here, I refuse to pay full price for books. I go to the bookstores, make a list of what I'm seeing that I'd like to read, and then go see if the library has them. If not, I request they buy them and they always do. I occasionally still purchase a few but they're either in the bargain section or I buy them used at places like you mentioned or Amazon.com. Yes, you have to pay $2 or $3 shipping but sometimes the item itself only costs a few cents or a buck! It's so worth it. As far as movies, Redbox rents 'em for $1 + tax per night. Unless you really have to own one, that's the place to go. Even having to own it, wait a bit and get it used on Amazon. Again, way cheaper and I've never had one that wasn't in great condition.

Status: offline 		i've spent most of my life ridiculously poor.  One of the things i've done to combat spending money wantonly is to consider it already spent:  having a solid, tangible financial goal in place that's a grander thing than whatever it is i want at this moment.  And having what some banks refer to as a "Christmas account".
Requiring myself to do y if i do x has also helped.  i partially saved up for relocating by putting the doubled amount in savings of whatever i spent on less-than-essentials (i.e. tp, rent, and healthy food groceries i wouldn't; new jeans and a chocolate bar, i would.)  It really made me think when i had to stop and consider this new, recalculated price.  Forgoing extra thing x in order to spend that money on extra thing y helps too (i.e. every time i want to go to a movie, i put the price of a ticket aside for new clothing.)
i'd save double the cash for those boots and then buy them.  If i couldn't do it, it would be an indicator that i shouldn't get them anyway, money is too tight.
Kinda' hardcore for some i suspect, but it works for me.
