Eivarden -> There is an option not listed on CMs search options?! (8/29/2009 9:30:35 PM)

Hello!

So... I decided to change up my search a bit.

I thought hard on it, and decided I'd find someone I was more compatible, if I narrowed down my options. (Could very well be 0 search results, but at least it should be someone more compatible.)

Then it hit me... under Gender on CMs main page, you can only CHose between;
Any
Male
Female
Couple
Trans.

Now, if I wanted to look up F>M transsexuals, I figured I'd put in "Trans" then "Straight".

Every search result was male transsexuals, M>F.

So I changed my search so they were Gay, then Lesbian, then Bisexual, then All.

No matter what, I always got M>F Transsexuals.

Do F>M call themselves transsexuals?

Does CM support such an option?

Or dis it they just don't bother with sites like this?

Even if so, why did my search show M>F even when I put "Straight" and "Looking for Male Sub" together?

I'm a bit confused.

If there are any in these threads, or if anyone knows of any, what should I look under?

If you're looking for a person who looks like a woman, but is packing a penis... That'd be transsexual (at least by CM definition). There is no search or self-identity option for which gender one leans more toward.

Sorry, Kiddo.

In a quick search for transsexuals.. I find just as many cross dressing hairy men as very pretty, androgynous or feminine types.

For the record, is M>F men who have become females, or people who have more masculine traits than feminine?

No, I'm talking about a woman who becomes a man, not a man who becomes a woman.

F>M = Female to Male.

The transsexual you are talking about is the opposite of what I mean.

There really isn't very many of them to begin with.

@Arpig:

I'd have to disagree with that. I have plenty of 'king' friends that would cheerfully explain how many of them there really are.

@Elvarden: I'd suggest trying a GBLT dating site and narrowing by 'BDSM' not the reverse. Better results that way. CM is an awesome site, for some things, but not for everything.

Thank you. ^^

I wouldn't really narrow it down to BDSM. ^^;

But I'll start looking.

Well transsexuals are a very small group to begin with, and I was under the impression that the majority of were M->F. I may be wrong, I didn't do any research into it, but still just by definition there aren't all that many trans people, let alone trans people into BDSM.

ETA.....
A quick bit of research and it appears I am correct:

P. Wilson, et al. conducted a study among all general practitioners in Scotland during the late 1990s. Among patients over the age of 15, the study found a prevalence of 1 per 12,200 patients with an approximate sex-ratio of 4 MTF (male-to-female) to each FTM (female-to-male) patient.

I think I have seen one person listed as F-->M.

Not every transexual identifies themselves as such.
Sometimes they identify as the gender they are now.
Does the physical gender they began as (at birth) matter a great deal to you?

So, if you are looking for someone who used to be a woman and is now a man, you might have to look through the men.

Arpig,

A lot of F to.Ms I know, would not register on a study like that, because they self identify, and bind their own breasts and pack a  rubber cock rather then getting phalloplasty surgery that simply is not at the level of medical advancement as the surgery available for M to Fs.

As the technical advancements come for surgically creating a penis we will see the real numbers of F to Ms out there.

And often many  M2F or F2M will and do identify as the gender they are transitioning to even if they haven't had the reassignment surgery.

Again, entirely possible and plausible. I really have no idea as to the actual numbers involved or the quality of the surgical procedures involved. I will readily yield to your knowledge of the subject.[:)]

Now, if I wanted to look up F>M transsexuals, I figured I'd put in "Trans" then "Straight".

Are you going to change your sex from male to female to suit those needs?

If you want a woman that has changed sex to a man why not just look for a man? Are you thinking that even though he thinks himself a man you can still see him as a woman and hope he sees you as a woman when you are a man?

I've never been so confused, perhaps I am missing an obvious explanation?

Eivarden -> RE: There is an option not listed on CMs search options?! (8/30/2009 1:45:57 PM)

Yeah, I figured most people would assume I like F>M for the base sexuality, when I should get a man.

Actually I'm not attracted to the look at all. (Took time to get used to their new looks. But it also helpped I knew one pre-op and knew her through the process.)

It's the mentality of those I have been friends with before, that I'm in love with. The common personality traits I've seen in them.

I've dated one who was pre-op. She just cross dressed.

And I know I've never liked anyone as much as I did her.

But for me to explain it better, I would have to step on some toes, which I would rather not.

Actually, If that's even what she wants, and we are really compatible, I would do it for her.

Yeah, this was the issue with the ones I have been friends with, If I slip and say "her", or "she", man they would get so mad at me.

I was kind of worried that would be the issue. Makes it hard for me, but then again, I figured it was only because they were gay. So if they liked guys, they tell us they were Transsexuals.

So far the sites I checked for, have come up empty, but I'll keep going.

But thank you to all those who have replied. ^^
