Man. I went to a Rifftrax screening of Plan 9 from Outer Space. Before the main event, they riffed on an old training film for "Flying Stewardesses" from the 40s or 50s. That must have been a DREAM job for girls who didn't want to get married and settle down. Traveling, flirting with businessmen, making a living for yourself, literally a jetset lifestyle (perhaps minus the jets at first). I remember watching the film and deciding that if I had lived at that time, I would have wanted to be an Air Hostess! P.S. - My favorite part in the film was when the Air Hostesses individually tucked in each guest into their own curtained sleeper beds. That, and all the smoking onboard the plane. Oh, and the 4-course meals. "An Air Hostess must serve each passenger a 4-course meal. They may have as little as two-minutes to prepare each tray!" P.P.S. - There is a sample of the short here.
