I get constant emails from all my Republican friends (I'm a Republican)....all wanting me to understand as clearly as possible how Obama is going to destroy the world.

Let me be clear....he's not an American (wasn't born in the US), he's a racist, he loves Muslims, hates democracy (and all things American), of course....he's black (which as best as I can tell...makes him entirely not white), and I'm sure there's more than a few other things I'm not altogether clear on that make him easily the first runner up to the AntiChrist.

I try to tell them all...."look at Bush....what did he do? Have you read anything about the issues? Do you simply (constantly) resend emails that someone sends to you that ascribe to someone else's innuendo?"

To no avail.

I hate being a Republican (and I voted for the AntiChrist).

God forgive me....I prefer facts.

Bush was an anomaly in history...not unlike Dan Quayle if you think about it. For example, here's a quote from Quayle:

"Republicans understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child."

Seems like an appropriate quote given this website don't you think?

Putting a GOP in charge wont change a thing.

It is time for a 3rd party. Unfortunately- many still beleive that the left-right argument- does us any good. It is all a distraction- while the elite global 1% pick our pockets and enslave us.

the system isn't broken, it has been purposely redesigned to prevent any effective action from being taken

I agree with you pahunkboy. I generally avoid political threads no matter which site I'm posting on. Those people who gleefully elected Obama under his mantra of 'Change' and 'Yes, we can'!', are now finding out that his rhetoric was just BS.

A very few of those people are now waking up to see exactly who they elected. Nearly every promise he made during his presidential campaign, he's broken in eight short months.

It's just too bad that the 49% who did NOT vote for him are suffering the consequences. By the way, I don't identify as either Democrat or Republican. I identify as Libertarian. I supported Ron Paul in the 2008 campaign even though he chose to run as a Republican.

At least Ron Paul is a man who will stand up for the Constitution rather than dismantle it as both mainstream political parties have been doing for the last 60 years or so.

I have a lot of friends like that too. They have mailing lists they merely plug into a forward and carbon copy mailing.

I wonder if they've done any research on their own, or whether they've taken the path of least resistance and let someone else they know nothing about do their thinking for them.

I've got friends on the other end of the political spectrum too. During the GWB years there was similar emailing from them.

I think most focus on the wrong "Us v Them."

I hate forwarded emails of any sort. Political (usually an attempt to inspire terror with no facts AT ALL) and religious ("please pass along this angel"........gag gag OR "please help us save prayer in school!!" more gag gag) are the worst.

I agree that it is almost all us versus them.

It is never really about issues but about feeling better about oneself through putting down others who are not like us and feeding fear whether completely out of ignorance or a legitimate concern that gets blown way out of proportion. These types of lists and getting ones news through 100 degrees of separation on emails and my friend who shares my viewpoints told me the earth is flat and I am sure his source is beyond reproach are just another type of comfort food. The people that partake in such things are just wanting to feel better and not actually caring about something simple like perspectives and the truth.

I was watching a tribute to George Carlin several months ago. They showed an old clip of him in the mid sixties and in it he referred to conservatives are horrified by the liberals on their war against Christmas. My point not being an attack on conservatives but that this is common human behavior that people love to feel like a victim, the underdog and feel superior toward others and for some they will of course go toward the extremes. It is nothing new and always sad when people are taking their self esteem and identity too much from their political and religious beliefs.

I haven't seen a Republican or a Democrat in a LONG LONG LONG Time.

In Fact I don't think I ever saw one, Sure did read about a lot of them in History.

Today it's to what degree someone can be a Liberal Liberal, A Conservative Liberal, or a Extremist Liberal.

I myself do not fall completely under the moniker of Republican I am a Conservative but there are things I just don;t give a shit about. I don't care if Homosexuals Marry, I don't care if they are in the Military, I don't care about Sexual Identity or Condoms being handed out in schools.

I do care about the Family Table, the Moral Responsibility to teach Moral Responsibilities, Honor among Men, Children being loved and cared for, and everyone doing their job for the Family Core and the American Dream.

I believe what the Constitution was written for, I believe it has been Bastardized and used to make it okay for people to do what is morally wrong and that over time it has been used to make it okay to do destructive things that should never be okay to do.

I believe that Americans should LOVE AMERICA, if you don't you should get the fuck out. I believe that voted for him or not (And no I did NOT) Obama is OUR PRESIDENT, the Commander in Chief and he should not be underminded. You can Argue that he is not doing the best job that you feel he should be doing but it serves neither man nor country to undermind his authority and the fact that it is because of this great country that he was ELECTED and not just told he was our new leader.

In the end he may do lots of bad for this country but we need to think toward 2012 or 2016 and seek someone who can actually make the CHANGES that Obama talked about. In the end all we can do is continue to LOVE and MEND the country that gives us the ability to be a PART of the electorial system, that gives us a place to speak out about what we do not agree with and allows us an Audience to get the word out.

There are no other countires like ours in the world.

Republican, Democrat, Liberal, I perfer to be an American.
