It's much easier to find excuses not to do something that it is take the step to do something.   If money is tight right now (like it is for many people), then set a goal of saving a set amount per paycheck for you to have enough to travel.   I'm not advocating lying to your family, but do you have to tell them why you are going "to town"?  Can you just tell them that you have plans? Be positive about yourself.   You would be surprised at the number of people that radiate toward a positive, happy person.

is it just me or is it like insanely difficult to meet someone? it seems anyone who seems somewhat interested lives too far away and anyone who lives in my area aren't interested. should i continue looking or what?

you may want to contact the TNG group, which are young men and women around your age. I am not sure if they post their members on a different board? I have seen their co-owner pop in from time to time

And..........you are only 20...........I know I have old parents and although I don't live with them, I live in their home while they live in a rental property due to medical conditions that prevent them from living in their house. I am the person that has to drive them at night if they want to attend a social gathering, go to doctors appointments and all of the things with taking care of someone. As a 50 + yr old, my mom wants to know where I am going and who I am I meeting at times if I tell them I am going out. I tell her that it is none of her business, that i go and talk with others about sex, drugs and rock and roll and does she want me to tell her about sex. That pretty much shuts her up. However, if you live at home sometimes it can be difficult but I agree with the one recommendation that you are going out to a social adult meeting for like minded people. Munches are usually held at a restaurant but there is no requirement to eat a meal. I know some who just have water or maybe a soda or something small because they either don't have or need to watch their money. Instead of worrying about finding someone focus on yourself, pursuing education, work or whatever else you have going on and in time your situation will get better.

TNG isn't owned by anyone.  It's a sig (special interest group) in different areas specifically designed for younger lifestylers that are offshoots from whatever local group is in the area.

You are thinking of fey, who has started such a group in Tulsa.

fadedshadow -> RE: meeting people (8/14/2009 9:10:18 PM)

i wonder if there's any groups in my area..

We aren't going to sit here and do your homework for you, OP. Google this stuff. The info is out there.

How near are you to St. Louis? On the map, it looked pretty close.

If I bang on this keyboard well enough- a man will parachute into my yard and knock at my door.

Give up looking and the right person will come, just get involved with interests you and enjoy life, as often kinky folk can be found in places you least expect them, one does not have to attend a club or declare their interest to have the taste.
