to the OP...You can cook him dinner just as soon as you work up the courage to ask him over. Hope it works out well for both of you.

Boi, I think thats what it all boils down to, isnt it? :)

Thanks to everyone for all their varied and insightful answers! To answer a few questions, FangsNfeet, of course he has been to my place, and I have spent nearly every night at his since we've gotten together, but we havent transgressed into cooking for eachother yet.. I look at it as quite a gesture, what does cooking for you SO mean to all of you?

pahunkboy, I love light produce filled food in the summertime, especially with a great white wine!! But that gets a little tricky, since he's sober ;) (my first ever).

frazzle, thanks for the recipe, I will have to try it when it cools down a bit here in the NorthEast :)

LaT, that is I would imagine the most optimal result, hehe

For anyone else who might have been confused, I wasnt unsure of what to cook him, rather when to initiate it. I have spent a lot of time in LTR's so "dating" is always a bit nerve wracking, I would dread jumping the gun ;)

I got a beef strogonoff that can be cooked up in the crock pot. Even using the 7-qt monster, no one could get enough.

Which reminds me, retrieve the newest cookbook from the 2nd household.

Oh boy am I dreading that dang vanilla cone! I was here a while back and have since returned out of, surprise, curiosity.

Anyways, a semi off topic query.

I am dating a very naturally dominant man. I know he has not ventured into "BDSM" realm or M/s/D/s other than stereotypical sexual exploration for a man in his mid twenties. We have fallen into a very natural D/s rhythm, more than I ever accomplished with my Master a few years ago, and its all unspoken (amazing).

Anyways, all that background for a very silly (and cute) question!

When can I cook him dinner?!!

I only have for a man one other time, and he was the "chef" so I never really had an opportunity. Since I had parted ways with him though, I took many cooking "lessons" with me and I am dying to try them out on a man! Particularly, this Man.

Thanks for your insight :)

Edit to add, Look!! no cone! I deleted my account, but I guess it didnt cross onto the message boards! hurrah :)

Ok, well I have decided to start small!

I just dont want to come off too strong you know? The relationship is still new!

So, it will be...... cookies! I am seeing him on thursday which is also the last day of his internship, so I am going to bake him his favorite kind of cookies (oatmeal raisin, which happen to be mine as well!) to "celebrate" (a surprise of course, but I stated that we will be celebrating, I wonder if he's curious what that will entail .. hehe)

Anyways, after browsing and tweaking, this is the recipe I settled on :) I havent decided if I am going to use both eggs, some reviews wrote that the cookies were too "cakey". I added the salt, nutmeg, molasses, & doubled the cinnamon. I wanted to add crasins, but he only "sort of" likes cranberries.

½ tsp salt
2 tsp molasses
2 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
2 tbs honey
1 c butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 ¼ packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ C flour
1 tsp baking soda
3 C rolled oats
1 C raisin

Vanilla rules: if you have had dinner out with him 2x or more and the relationship is progressing - it's "safe" to invite him over for a casual dinner.
Save the heavy stuff - elaborate concoctions, formal service, even candle light for later. Indulge him s l o w l y

hey what do i know but enjoy and have fun :)

Saying "I'd like to cook for you" is the perfect reason/excuse to invite him over.  You already have the hard part taken care of.

I almost never cook anymore.  I simply adore when D cooks for me.

exactly the advice I was searching for . I am not that well at dating so "time lines" evade me.. And yes I realize you dont have to "follow the rules" in the game of the heart, but I like this one and want him to stick around ;)

great advice, thank you !!

Sounds like cookies is right where I want to be :)

When?  As in when is too soon in a relationship or when it is the 'right' time?
Guys tend to interpret women cooking for them as definite expressions of interest.
If you're interested in him, I'd say anytime would be fine.
Best wishes,
  Davan

I suggest crackers in bed. That will answer a lot of questions/issues/concerns.
