Status: offline 		There must be other folk here that enjoy watching the food channel; any favourite shows? I really enjoy Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, The Ace of Cakes, Iron Chef and many others. What are some of your favorite "cookin" shows? Do you enjoy cooking?

Status: offline 		It's not on the Food Channel, but I like that show Weird Eats on the Travel Channel. I watch that anytime I catch it on.

Status: offline 		I must confess to being a Food Network junkie too (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, any Bobby Flay series and Ina Garten's "The Barefoot Contessa" Series are a few of my favorites)...also on Bravo channel the Top Chef series always draw me in....Oh I even like Hell's Kitchen on the Fox Network...last but not least the food travelogues on the Travel Channel especially Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations".. made twice as fun with his witty comments and good looks!

Diners, Drive-In's and Dives - I find Guy to be extremely annoying, but in a likable way (if that makes sense) and they show so many great eateries.

Chopped - I like how they've condensed the reality competition genre into one episode, which suits my TV-watching style much better than something like The Next Food Network Star

Iron Chef America - The only other competition show I really like on the network. I started watching the original Iron Chef when it was imported and while Alton makes a good announcer/commentator, he's no Fukui-san!

Good Eats - Alton Brown has given me so many little tricks and explained so much of the basic science behind cooking that other instructional cooking show hosts probably don't even know. I owe him a great debt for that, and then there's the entertainment factor of the little movie spoofs to top it off.

I'll watch just about anything on the network, though I don't much like Bobby Flay, Gia DeLaurentis or Sandra Lee and have a limited tolerance for Rachel Ray.

Status: offline 		I love the Ace of Cakes.  Duff looks and acts like my brother in law, so it makes it all the more fun to watch.  And they make some awesome looking cakes.  But I've often wondered how those cakes taste lol.

Status: offline 		I have to say Good Eats on the Food Network and Top Chef on Bravo are my favorites.  I pretty much keep the TV on the Food Network.  I guess I like the background noise while I work.  Of course that might also explain why I'm always hungry.

Status: offline 		I also like Guy and the 'Diner' show. He is great will people and puts everyone at ease. Nothing fake going on there. Real people and family owned restaurants..The cars he drives for the show are a bonus..

Status: offline 		playfullotter if  you haven't read Anthony s original book that made him famous. You should. It's a good look behind the scenes at the food industry. No Reservations is a great show. It would be a blast hitting some good restaurants with Bourdain for company. Course they would have to sell some kind of pork. Food Porn at its best.


Been watching Iron Chef since Food Network first started rerunning the Japanese show. Who knew such a hokey idea could be so damn entertaining. Though lets try to forget that short lived over the top nock off that came to America first.

Top Chef on Bravo is always fun. Though they seem to have highlighted the drama in the last season or two more than they did in the begining of the show.

Good Eats is Mr.Wizard for food but much more fun.

I liked this show for the exact same reasons. He is great with people.

I also love 30 Minute Meals with Rachel Ray. I find the way she talks about making good food in a way that is kind of like guilt incentive without making me feel bad.

Status: offline 		on the travel network:  anthony bordain: no limitations and bizarre foods with andrew zimmeran.  great tv. oh and man vs food.

alton brown.  iron chef (and the original iron chef in reruns on the fine living network at 11 eastern during the week).  guy fieri who cracks me up.

Status: offline 		Thanks for the recommendation for the book Travelgman...I haven't read any of his books...but I will now. He even did one episode called "Food Porn" as I recall....I loved the episode (or at least I think it was Bourdain) when he went to Mario Batali's fathers place he opened when he retired where he makes homemade sausages the old-fashioned way....I would love to go to that place...yum....Oh I should add the show on PBS "On the Road Again" where Mario Batali, Gwyneth Paltrow and a couple others tour Spain was a hit for me this past year as we otters love our shellfish and they sure seem to have a lot of good shellfish in Spain from watching that show!

Status: offline 		Food  network is my default station. If nothing else is on, I'm watching FN. Alton is my fvorite, and Iron Chef, I'm not as interested in the straight recipe shows, but the competitions are cool. Duff rocks too.
