Maybe someone can help me out....

I remember watching a movie when I was a kid (mid 70's) where a woman comes home to her apartment and discovers signs of having been broken into. I gather this happens a couple of times, because she sets a trap for him and ends up caging him the next time he creepy crawls her place. Anybody know the title?

There has been a MILLION Movies with this pretence I would need to know more about it and actor or actresses name or even a special twist that made this movie special from the others.
