LdyKatalina -> Blocking an annoying User (8/1/2009 7:08:37 PM)

My apologies if this is the wrong forum in which to post my question, but I could find no obvious 'site support' or 'contact a Moderator' link.

I have blocked an annoying user (yes, I requested that she stop contacting me, but she chose to disregard my request).  I just received another email from her tonight.  The email program does, however, courteously offer to 'unblock' her if I like.

Is the block function supposed to be able to block unwanted emails?  Or just chat requests? Help?

Thanks -
Lady K

I think that it is indeed meant to block the e-mail. Perhaps these days one gets a notification anyway. If you do not want to read her e-mail, then do not unblock the message. Just ignore it.

The email should have been blocked.

If you have asked her to leave you alone and she then persists it is a TOS violation:
"...
7.3.7.      You will not "stalk" or otherwise harass any person, and if any member or other person requests that You cease communications with them, at any time, for any reason, You will immediately comply with said request. Further, You stipulate to liquidated damages of $50,000.00 per such violation, and You agree to pay any and all fees incurred in the recovery of this amount, including attorneys' fees and all associated costs. We expressly reserve the right, and You stipulate, that We may assign the rights to sue for these liquidated damages to any third party, including the party stalked or otherwise harassed by such violation."

There are only two tricks to effective blocking:

1) Use quick drying cement
2) Cast their feet in the cement when you're already near a bridge

Also, get as much of their body up on the rail as possible, so that it acts as a fulcrum, making it easier to swing the cemented feet over.

Good luck!

That is evil, Tim!

Perhaps nearer to a rapid section of a river is more like it...[sm=evil.gif]

Music, that was good, but then ............

If it ever happened to me, I would do my best to be more annoying to them. This can be difficult with some people but then anything good could take a bit of effort.

Respond to each and every mail, and make sure you type and type and type. Bore them. In other words, fight fire with gasoline.

That was a song some time ago, anyone remember who done it, I should download it.

I say to have fun with it. Don't let it get to you. Someone annoys me, I will reciprocate. And I will have fun doing it. And I won't stop until they do. Insist on a home address ? I'll give you one. Like the last time I went to a club, need ID, I didn't have an ID. I borrowed one. They never said it had to be my ID.

Let the guy get on a plane going to east bumfukt Egypt somewhere and forget about it. Whatever it takes. Tell him you are a fake and you are really in Italy and you need someone to sign as spouse to get out of the country or somethi9ng because of your inheritance. Pests deserve this. Use the techniques of spammers. Hey, you might even get something out of it if they are stoooopid enough.

Ply them for money. Baby, when that first check comes in, shut the fuck up. Let it happen.

There are alot bigger fish to fry in this world. While scammers we are not, if someone really asks for it, what do you do ? Think of it that way and it will never bother you again. Bother them back. Spam them. Do whatever. That's the way I see it. If they have been told that you are not interested and they persist, they are open game.

Refusing to get annoyed also works.

There;s a way of refusing to get annoyed whilst responding with one word mails such as:

'And...?'

'So....?'

Simply repeat until said person realizes that they're putting in far more effort than you without getting anywhere and gives up.

Stella, I am sending my kids to whatever school you went to. That is brilliant, that is if you don't want to have any real fun with it. I guess some are really so boring though. ..............
