I got tired of constant nastiness on the part of a relatively new poster and hit report on one of his posts. It pops up with a box to put in a reason you are reporting it.
I tried flaming, not a valid reason. I tried criticism which is valid for reporting a profile, but invalid for reporting a post.

So what are valid reasons? Because I don't see a list to choose from.

I've used Personal Identification and TOS and I put the same thing in the title as I do in the box.

I get that but how do I word it? Do I just say TOS violation in the reason box and then mention his defamation in the large box?

Honestly, I've never reported anyone. Believe it or not, no one has done anything bad enough to warrant that response.

Celeste, I'd also provide a link to the post in question, giving an example of why you think it breaks TOS. Maybe even copy/paste the original post if the person ever goes back to edit what they first said.

But then - I'm a big believer in CYAWP: Cover Your Ass With Paper.

The only report posts that involve animals and pedophiles. Other than that I enjoy the trainwrecks.

You really only need these two -

TOS violation (covers just about everything)
Wrong forum (for the folks who whine about their mail in the general bdsm forum - [:D])

It's not necessary to put a link since you are reporting the actual post.

I have reported a poster only once and regretted it. He was obnoxious and rude in my fat poll a couple of years ago. The result: my successful, well received fat poll - which just then began yielding somewhat interesting results with about 130 voters - was pulled! Without me having copied the latest data, nor being forwarded this scientifically valuable data by the mod who pulled the thread. That taught me to never report any poster ever again. I still want that lost data!

Selective ignore works wonders for me. People post like that to gain attention. Denying them that attention.... grins
